I met a woman who was a baby in the maternity ward with me the day I was born, fifty years earlier, in a different state.
I was getting a minor medical procedure, and the nurse came in to prep me.
She verified my name, and said," I'm Laura, but I was almost called Maura. The day after I was born, a baby was born in the ward and named Maura. My mother always said she wished she had known about that name sooner."
Then she verified my birthdate on the chart, and said, "That's the day after I was born, same year. But I was born in (hospital) in (another state)."
Well, my Mom was a nurse at that hospital, and traveled there to deliver me. We each went home and checked our birth certificates and sure enough it is true.
I love this coincidence, and we send each other birthday cards every year.
