What easily could have been the worst turned into a great experience.

My wife and I went to Olive Garden several years ago. We ordered, got our drinks, and waited. We were talking, and didn't pay much attention to how long we waited.

A young female manager stopped by, and asked what we'd ordered. She sat with us and told us that our server had quit without turning in her orders. The manager was so nice, and so apologetic (and funny), that we just couldn't get upset about it.

She took our orders, encouraged us to get dessert, and comped everything. It ended up being a very nice experience.
