When my husband and I separated, I got a rottweiler puppy. Since then I have had a total of 9 rottweilers. No need for an alarm system. No one has ever tried to break into my home, my dogs would give their lives for me and my son.

However, if you are gone all day and have an active social life, get a security system. Dogs are pack animals and need their humans. They depend on us for everything and give us unconditional love in return. If you aren’t going to be with them much, they won’t be socialized and can literally destroy your house because they are bored. They also need to be walked a few times a day and need playtime and cuddles. My dogs are rarely left alone for more than a few hours. Having dogs is a huge responsibility and their needs have to come before your wants.
