Once a company has been granted a sponsorship licence, the process for issuing a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) is relatively quick:
- Granting of Sponsorship Licence: First, your company must obtain a sponsorship licence from the Home Office. The processing time for this is typically around 8 weeks, but it can take up to 12 weeks in certain cases. For faster processing, you can use the priority service, which aims to process the licence within 10 working days.
- Issuing the Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS): Once the licence is granted, you can issue a CoS through the Sponsorship Management System (SMS) almost immediately. The process is straightforward and can be completed the same day, as long as you have all the necessary information about the worker you intend to sponsor.
