I strained a muscle in my back (doing something routine like getting out of bed — that’s life in your mid-40’s) and I couldn’t remember off the top of my head whether it was better to apply heat, cold or alternate. I wasn’t near my computer or phone so of course I asked Alexa, “What do you do for lower back pain.”

Alexa’s answer? “There is no known cure for herpes…” followed by the Web MD rundown on how to prevent flare-ups and transmission. I just wanted a little pain relief and I ended up with herpes. Of interest, I checked the Alexa app where you can see how Alexa has misheard your question and correct it (ostensibly to improve performance) and it turns out she heard me just fine. She’s just convinced everyone with a sore back has herpes! : )
