You only need to look at Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, China, North Korea, Russia, & Iraq, or Afghanistan, & I have not even touched on some of those African States, like Somalia or the Congo? What is it with all these money grabbing power hungry mad bastards have they not caused enough misery around the world? Even corrupt countries like Pakistan & India are not immune to showing their greed always putting out there hands for world aid when they have many millionaires in their own countries they could raise their taxes but there are way to many palms being greased for that to happen. Only those countries in the West by which I mean Europe keep giving them more money & the U.K. is no different in doing so & it’s a disgrace when many are living on the streets due to lack of housing & jobs the policing powers are to limited these days & prisons need building!! So put the prisoners to work building more prisons make them work while inside to pay for their own keep why not? Those who refuse just keep them on cleaning the streets of litter or helping the farmers pick their crops there’s work & the farmers need help so give the farmers the help they require free labour it can help keep food prices down? Prisoners do not deserve a free ride when others are left to suffer?

We began in the U.S., but now have “Chapters” throughout the United States, Canada, and Western Europe. I know that there are other societies like us as well. Some we count among our friends, most have there own agendas or responsibilities that have nothing to do with us, we simply became aware of each other's existence from moving in similar ways, and others have become our declared enemies.

Obviously, mine is a biased opinion, but I believe our Brothers to be a force for Good. We impose our Governing Rules on no one except our Brothers. We do, however, protect and aid our fellow Brothers of their families. From time to time, in the past, we reluctantly and briefly stepped out of the shadows, as quietly as possible, to right an agregious wrong, and then retreated to ourselves again.

In summation, yes, secret societies do exist. Most for their own reasons and purposes. Most keep to themselves. Unfortunately, not all are so benign.

I once met a man who drove a modest Toyota Corolla, wore beat-up sneakers, and looked like he’d lived the same way for decades. But what really caught my attention was when he casually mentioned he was retired at 45 with more money than he could ever spend. I couldn’t help but ask, “How did you do it?”

He smiled and said, “The secret to saving money is knowing where to look for the waste—and car insurance is one of the easiest places to start.”

He then walked me through a few strategies that I’d never thought of before. Here’s what I learned:

I once met a man who drove a modest Toyota Corolla, wore beat-up sneakers, and looked like he’d lived the same way for decades. But what really caught my attention was when he casually mentioned he was retired at 45 with more money than he could ever spend. I couldn’t help but ask, “How did you do it?”

He smiled and said, “The secret to saving money is knowing where to look for the waste—and car insurance is one of the easiest places to start.”

He then walked me through a few strategies that I’d never thought of before. Here’s what I learned:

1. Make insurance companies fight for your business

Most people just stick with the same insurer year after year, but that’s what the companies are counting on. This guy used tools like Coverage.com to compare rates every time his policy came up for renewal. It only took him a few minutes, and he said he’d saved hundreds each year by letting insurers compete for his business.

Click here to try Coverage.com and see how much you could save today.

2. Take advantage of safe driver programs

He mentioned that some companies reward good drivers with significant discounts. By signing up for a program that tracked his driving habits for just a month, he qualified for a lower rate. “It’s like a test where you already know the answers,” he joked.

You can find a list of insurance companies offering safe driver discounts here and start saving on your next policy.

3. Bundle your policies

He bundled his auto insurance with his home insurance and saved big. “Most companies will give you a discount if you combine your policies with them. It’s easy money,” he explained. If you haven’t bundled yet, ask your insurer what discounts they offer—or look for new ones that do.

4. Drop coverage you don’t need

He also emphasized reassessing coverage every year. If your car isn’t worth much anymore, it might be time to drop collision or comprehensive coverage. “You shouldn’t be paying more to insure the car than it’s worth,” he said.

5. Look for hidden fees or overpriced add-ons

One of his final tips was to avoid extras like roadside assistance, which can often be purchased elsewhere for less. “It’s those little fees you don’t think about that add up,” he warned.

The Secret? Stop Overpaying

The real “secret” isn’t about cutting corners—it’s about being proactive. Car insurance companies are counting on you to stay complacent, but with tools like Coverage.com and a little effort, you can make sure you’re only paying for what you need—and saving hundreds in the process.

If you’re ready to start saving, take a moment to:

Every government (national, state and local) has things that it keeps secret from the outside world.

Even animals enjoy privacy and secrecy. Dogs hide bones, squirrels hide nuts, etc. Wives hide their receipts so their husbands won’t know what they spent on a new purse. Fathers hide their favorite cookies so their kids won’t eat them. Kids hide things from their parents.

Couples (married or single) enjoy and expect a certain amount of privacy. Sometimes that privacy is focussed on family matters, finances, future plans, and decisions about children. Families have many things that are kept private. Neighbors have no right to sit in on family meetings and decisions.

If someone on the outside begins asking too many questions, anyone, whether married or not, has the right to say, “Sorry. That is private.”

Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of President Kennedy, co-authored a book with Ellen Alderman, titled “Right to Privacy.” A review of this book asks:

“Can a magazine publish an embarrassing photo of you without your permission? Does your boss have the right to read your personal email? Can a company monitor its employees' off-the-job lifestyles--and fire those who drink, smoke, or live with a partner of the same sex?”

“Although the word privacy does not appear in the Constitution, most of us believe that we have an inalienable right to be left alone. Yet in arenas that range from the battlefield of abortion to the information highway, privacy is under siege. In this eye-opening and sometimes hair-raising book, Alderman and Kennedy survey hundreds of recent cases in which ordinary citizens have come up against the intrusions of government, businesses, the news media, and their own neighbors.”

In the last few decades, we have even passed laws that protect your personal privacy. Universities cannot, by law, share information about its students. Employers cannot, by law, share personal information about its employees. If you are in the hospital, no one has the right to know why you are in the hospital. You are protected by HIPAA laws.

Fraternities, clubs and other organizations with private information have just as much right to their privacy, and a right to be left alone. You may call them “secret societies,” but they are no more secret than your next door neighbors.

“What is the most powerful secret society with ties to the occult?”

That is a hard question to answer. I would dismiss the Illuminati though. They only exist in the imagination of conspiracy theorists.

The Freemasons are possible candidates. They have been accused of having occult practices and beliefs, such as worshipping Lucifer, performing human sacrifices, and practicing magic. But that is most likely only black propaganda. Most of them seem to be “good ” Christians though.

The secret society that goes under the name “The Skull and Bones” is another possibility. Because several presidents are rumored to have been members, including George H. W. Bush, and George W. Bush. According to some conspiracy theorists, the Skull and Bones is a branch of the Freemasons or the Illuminati. They are also believed to have connections to the CIA, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Bilderberg Group. Its members are sometimes referred to as the Keepers of the Skull of Geronimo. Like the Freemasons and the Illuminati they are supposed to work for a new world order. I would say, the Skull and Bones is the best candidate so far.

The Rosicrucians is another mystical and esoteric society that claims to have origins dating back to both Pharaonic Egypt and mythical Atlantis. Their other claims are typical for such societies, i. e. they have secret a secret wisdom and knowledge that can lead to spiritual enlightenment and transformation. Not a powerful group, in spite of what the conspiracy theorists think.

The fifth candidate is The Ordo Templi Orientis, which has the most impressive sounding name of them all. The society was founded in Germany in the early years of the last century, and later reformed by Aleister Crowley himself, who among his other shenanigans crucified a toad that he had baptized Jesus Christ. Crowley, that great and bald beast, introduced his own system of magick (Crowley’s spelling of the word magic) and substandard philosophy called Thelema, a Greek word that means “will”. Crowley wrote several books, both fiction and non-fiction, that give detailed (too detailed, according to his critics) descriptions of his magickal system. Among them are: “Moonchild”, “The Book of the Law”, “Magick in Theory and Practice”, and “Diary of a Drug Fiend”. OTO makes much the same claims as the others, and these should, of course, be taken with severals grains of rock salt. For those who are interested: Somerset Maugham paints a rather unflattering, but not inaccurate or unfair picture of Aleister Crowley in his novel “The Magician”.

If I had to choose among the five secret societies, I would go with the Skull and Bones as the most powerful, but I will add that I suspect that its power and reach has been exaggerated considerably by the conspiracy theorists, who are as numerous as toadstools, particularly in the US.

It was created by John Keegan, better known as Count Danté. The highest rank anyone has found for him with any credibility is 2nd Dan black belt. He was dishonorably discharged from the US Army. I only mention this as a lack of honour runs through this organisation like a spine runs through a man. Keegan wrote a pamphlet 'The World's Deadliest Fighting Secrets’ which was sold though magazines in the US like Black Belt magazine. Google the 'Dance of Death' sometime if you need cheering up.

The group today are a group of American very poor “martial artists” (in quotes because I don't believe there is a legitimate qualification among them). Like attracts like and they 'self-promote' each other to ridiculous levels. The organisation itself exists to support and award ranks to those who don't have the ability or tenacity to gain legitimate rank themselves.

They are terrible at self-policing. Ron Collins, a rapist of a 13 year old girl, was not excluded from their ranks (and if you want a giggle you can find him getting his ass knocked out in a backyard brawl, and backing down to Don Roley after storming one of his seminars).

They based themselves on the organisation in Bloodsport, and have the well known martial art fake Frank Dux. Danté came before Dux, so I think Dux based his 'kumite’ black dragon society on Dantés. Dux is now a member…once again, appropriate for someone universally considered a fraud. Dux was accused of 'stolen valor’. I am not sure how this works in the US. Dux was legitimately in the military (US Marines) but never was in combat, never was awarded the Medal of Honour, and never worked for the CIA. In fact a freedom of information request into Dux revealed he was referred to psychiatric help for 'flighty and disconnected ideas’.

A common theme of Black Dragon members is a wannabe 'hard man’ and almost child like 'action hero’ desire. Probably because they are not tough, not legitimate, and weak individuals. They need edification from each other to try and feel some self worth.

I honestly can't think of anything good to say about these guys. Bad martial artists doing bad martial arts, and bad people to boot.

It’s actually quite difficult to define. It usually concerns the more esoteric parts of religions, but some practices under its umbrella are (or can be) secular, and some religions (like Wicca and Thelema) are inherently occult. It concerns the paranormal (supernatural beings and powers and so forth), but is distinct from “paranormal investigation” — mediumship and parapsychology are occult, but ghost hunts are usually not (and UFO sightings are definitely not). Occultism is esoteric, but it periodically finds its way into the mainstream: Tarot cards are wildly popular, pop-astrology is all over the place, and the success of online witch communities (like witchtok) have lead mainstream publishing companies to capitalize on that and produce fluff-occult self-help books. Media even references occultism every once in a while — Goetic demons appear in Hereditary, Helluva Boss, and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. So what is occultism? I think the only definition that really ties it all together is, occultism is the study of magic in the real world.

There’s at least one occult system or practice within every major religion. There’s established mystery traditions — Judaism has Kabbalah, Islam has Sufism, Hinduism has Tantra, Christianity has a long and involved history of mysticism, etc. There’s also more “mundane” folk magic practices in every religion, spells and rituals that are designed to address everyday concerns. Some occult societies are secret (or initiation-only), especially offshoots of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, like the Ordo Templi Orientis and various trad-Wiccan covens. But all of these different systems and practices don’t inherently have anything to do with each other. And certainly not all occult knowledge is deliberately kept secret. I haven’t been initiated anywhere; I’m entirely self-taught. I’ve gotten all my own occult knowledge from books, websites, and pure mystical insight. I’ve managed to learn quite a lot just from that. That means I don’t get to have the fun of being part of a super secret club of initiates, but I hate keeping secrets, so it’s better that I’m not. I’d rather post all my insights online for the general public.

I like to compare Freemasonry with a football team. The practice sessions are held in private, and the public may not attend. But on Sunday afternoon, what was learned in the practice sessions is played out in front of a crowd of thousands, and a national television audience.
Freemason meetings are held in private, but what is taught in the meetings, is expected to be practiced by the membership. Friendship, morality, and brotherly love are not secret, and should be shared with all humanity.
So mote it be.

‘Dark’ and ‘black’ occult practices are myths for children. Magick is magick and shadows are the natural consequences of light meeting matter. Senseless harm is no good for anyone, but societies pursuing those are few to nonexistent, led by certifiable whack-jobs that crumble at their founders’ death or imprisonment. They aren't sources of esoteric power.

Real secret societies are book clubs with robes, incense, stilted pageantry, and a little too much socializing.

Aside from the occasional naked woman on an altar, something most of these groups don't even do, it's not that exciting.

I like it. But I also think attending church is one of the most stimulating and enjoyable pastimes available to humans. If you disagree, you'll be disappointed by occult societies.

The secret society is a hidden branch of a well known group, such as the Freemasons or the Roman Catholic Church. Everyone knows about those groups, just not how far down the rabbit hole they go.

The secret society uses an imaginary secret society to point to as a distraction. Don't pay attention to some ”resort” the most powerful men on the planet all attend once a year, just hunt for the Illuminati instead!

The secret society spreads extreme disinformation about themselves to discredit legitimate investigations. A hidden cabal of the wealthiest bankers in the world is suspicious. If that theory includes that they are lizard people wearing fake human skin, we can just treat the whole thing as tabloid nonsense and stop looking into the bankers at all.

Take a walk to the nearest Lodge, be it F&AM or Prince Hall. Go on a meeting night, and the Brothers lwill meet you and talk about Masonry. Request an application, fill it out and if pass a CBC, and get voted on as a new member by decision they you start. There's a little work involved, but if you apply yourself and become a Master Mason you will find you have joined the most wonderful organization in the world!

There are plenty of secret societies around the globe. Few have been unveiled I'm recent studies. For instance, you will be surprised to know that Sir Isaac Newton was a secret society member! Yes he was!. Their goal was to prove the existence of God and to spread Christianity. Some researchers believe that secret societies had members who were likely to be called “warrior band” or “band of warriors” in this era. They had assassins that can kill a person in blink of an eye and wipe out the scene as nothing happened. While some were savior kinda guys who preached religion and stuff in such a way that none could doubt that person.

Even few branches of government are secret societies that do all the dirty work for politicians and military. For instance there is this bunch of secret society members who would wipe out all aliens and other extra terrestrial stuff found on the planet in such a way that government could prove nothing happened. Or it was just an accident. And use it for their research and making sure people don't panic with this kinda unusual stuff. This is pretty common in the U.S.

In ancient times, secret societies were made to hunt down evil demons. Literally killing demons. Books and other proving evidences have been found on land of Scandinavia.

These guys are undercover heroes perhaps.

Hope this helps!

The world is full of secret societies, or as the Freemasons say, societies with secrets.

An example: Bilderberg Meeting - Wikipedia

That it exists is public knowledge, but what happens in those meetings is secret.

Same with many Intelligence agencies: we know they exist, but what they do is secret.

But - and this is a big BUT - the existence of some is, in itself, secret. As we do not know they exist, we perforce know nothing.

I’ve come across just one like that, backed by a French king to persecute Protestants. With its headquarters in Paris, its members included priests across the land; they met in secret. I discovered one of their secret chapels in Pas de Calais, whilst surveying a Roman Villa.

Off the cuff, they're very picky about who they let in. The candidate must be trustworthy, I suppose. I'm not in a secretive society, nor am I really close to anyone who is. But I'm sure they must carefully vet candidates. If they didn't, the secretive society would no longer have secrets. I have no idea what a secretive society would do to vet someone.

Ostensibly, this is a tricky question to attempt to answer. If one happens to be a member of an unknown secret society chances are one has taken an oath never to reveal one’s membership or the existence of said society. Fortunately there are numerous books available where you can read about secret societies both known and obscure.

The answer by Scott Grundy is excellent. Freemasonry is much more of a society with some secrets than a secret society. In fact, what really best describes masonry is the idea of it simply being a “private organization”. That's pretty much the best idea.

Just like the reasons why us ordinary people can't decide to go attend the executive board meeting at Apple or Google, or any other organization, is the same reason why non-members don't sit in on most Masonic meetings. In our business meetings we mostly jusy pay our bills anyway…

You have to agree that we have been rediscovering things, not discovering them. Example-

i) Proofs of nuclear blast ha been found in India, dating back to ancient times.

An excerpt from article written on Dr. Oppenheimer, director of Manhattan project, the creator of the world's so called first atomic bomb.

"There is evidence that the Rama empire (now India) was devastated by nuclear war. The Indus valley is now the Thar Desert, and the site of the radioactive ash found west of Jodhpur is around there. A heavy layer of radioactive ash in Rajasthan, India, covers a three-square mile area, ten miles west of Jodhpur. Scientists are investigating the site, where a housing development was being built. For some time it has been established that there is a very high rate of birth defects and cancer in the area under construction. The levels of radiation there have registered so high on investigators’ gauges that the Indian government has now cordoned off the region. Scientists have unearthed an ancient city where evidence shows an atomic blast dating back thousands of years, from 8,000 to 12,000 years, destroyed most of the buildings and probably a half-million people. One researcher estimates that the nuclear bomb used was about the size of the ones dropped on Japan in 1945."

Julius Robert Oppenheimer is remembered as “The Father of the Atomic Bomb”. During a college lecture, a student asked “‘Was the atomic test at Alamagordo the first nuclear blast?”

(The student meant: Was there a U.S. program before Alamagordo?)

Oppenheimer answered: ‘Yes, in modern times.’

Seen in the context of history, Emperor Ashoka was a very intelligent leader an exceptional democrat and an unparellaled administrator.

What of War of Kalinga was not for land or kingdom, but for knowledge, to make his total collection of the nine complete. As we see from the subjects of the Secret Nine, they can be extensively used in war and every state protects its war secrets. The implications are paramount.

So yes, I think the content of those subjects are real and that Ashoka had the foresight to create a society of Nine Men who hold such a potent knowledge. Yes, I think that they aren't releasing it to the whole world because they do not think that mankind is ready for the knowledge which may have earth shattering effects all at once. They will come out of concealment once the world is at peace, when nobody is bent on cutting each other's throats.

For those who want to call me a Conspiracy theorist, I do not speak for the mass, it is my opinion only.

Peace!

In it’s simplest form, a Secret Society is a closed group with it’s own purpose, laws, and customs.

It is almost always a closed group that admits outsiders only on ground of status, blood line, and sometimes by simple referral.

This is almost always followed by rigorous processes, often including that of petitioning, and almost always that of vetting of individuals.

The purposes of Secret Societies vary widely and is often only known to the members, who for most part almost always fall into a hierarchical structure.

This is a relatively straight forward answer, until you dig deeper.

This is a relatively straight forward answer, until you dig deeper.

As soon as you start looking, these societies are often elevated to the stuff of legends online, and almost always have the conspiracy community talking on some level.

Their privacy is often construed for secrecy, and unfortunately also frequently mistaken for cover of general maleficence. In a modern world of instant access, and gratification - it is difficult to grasp why secrecy is needed for many.

This privacy, and in some instances, actual secrecy - make these groups difficult to place in the mind of outsiders, and unfortunately also soft targets for those who are so inclined.

Outsiders often demand access, while revelling in baseless conspiracy, only to start flinging wild accusations; rather than listening to reason, and relying on the detailed facts. In this conspiracy-theory saturated world, these groups are pulled apart on a daily basis, and implicated without the chance to ever defend themselves in multiple forums.

More often than not, the truth is quite boring, and will never compete with the theories. Plenty choose the more exciting option, and perpetuate the theories until they are elevated to the point of myth and legend, only to become the truth in the minds of the next generation. Sad but true.

It is thous groups that conform to those examples, that are the ones often loosely bundled into the Secret Society group.

These Secret Societies include (but is not limited to:

  • Bavarian Illuminati (defunct)
  • Skull and Bones (Yale)
  • Freemasonry
  • Knights Templar
  • Bilderberg Group
  • Bohemian Club (Bohemian Grove)
  • Rosecrutions

I would suggest that a truly secret society would attempt to conceal their very existence. If you know that one exists, it probably isn't.

But some groups are more private than others. Some conceal their membership, where members are not allowed to say they are a member. If someone says they are a member, it's most likely that are not. Some Esoteric groups fall into that category. Mind you this is not the same as a group not releasing their membership out of respect for basic privacy.

And then there are groups, such as the Freemasons, who have the attitude of secrecy as a spiritual discipline and confidence between Brothers. They refrain from exposing things like password and handshakes, knowing full well they can be found via Google. It's the principle of the thing.

My belief is that secret societies do exist, but not as formal or cohesive organizations. They may have powerful members whose names appear in the roster of entities considers to be shadowy and powerful.

Or they may simply be cultural or spiritual traditions from a time when secrecy was necessary, and now it's just cool.

I guess my TL/DR is don't overthrow it. Secret societies exist, but they are not the groups you think they are, and most aren't anyway nearly as exciting or nefarious as our imaginations whisper to us.

I say that because they are no longer working for the PEOPLE of the United States of America.

They are now exclusively working for their Führer, one Donald John Trump first, and themselves exclusively.

To be important, people have to believe in your importance. This problem naturally curtails the importance of any truly secret society.

In addition: To wield power is to be visible to those looking for such exertions. A secret society wishing to stay so is doomed to irrelevance pretty much by definition.

Most actual “secret” societies are in fact anything but secret. They just don't publish their membership and restrict attendance. This affords them certain freedoms to act as a group ie. to gain import.

Most empirical studies of fraternal organizations I know of have shown little empirical effect
