Welcome to Everything Language!

Whether you’re a linguistics legend or just exploring the curiosities of language for the first time, this is a space to share, chat and ask about, well — everything language!

Don’t worry; you don’t have to be a polyglot or even speak a second tongue to make the most of this community!

Who moderates this space?

We’re the content team at Babbel, the world’s number-one-selling language-learning app. We’re nerds who delight in digging up that content to pull out of your back pocket at parties, that can fuel the stimulating conversations you have when you’re out with friends.

We also work closely with our team of language experts in Berlin to create, curate and share science-backed advice about language learning.

How to join the conversation

We welcome the following submissions:

  • original answers you write yourself or ones you find elsewhere on Quora
  • questions for fellow followers
  • links to articles and websites that are particularly compelling
  • comments on any of the above (we reserve the right to remove comments that are not relevant to the topic or disrespectful)

Anything about language is appropriate — from fun facts to stories and stats about languages to learning tips and tricks.

Submissions are more likely to be accepted if they’re free of grammatical and spelling errors, well-reasoned, and directly related to language in some way.
