Dear Admission Seekers,

This post had to go anonymous due to obvious reasons, but trust me that the facts mentioned below are 100% authentic and can be verified with any current PGPM student .

Great Lakes Institute of Management is just another money sucking institute. Institute is increasing fees, which still is okay for a private institution, but they also increase the intake by 10% every year and the fact of the matter is that there are not many credible companies and roles coming to the campus.

The average salary published on the website can be multiplied by 0.75 for it to make sense, as the amount they publish includes hefty variable pay by the company as well, which may never be realized. The Return on your Investment, if you join this institute, will be minimal as the reality is visible only after one joins. Placements are weak, companies and roles are sub-standard. Currently 25% of the batch is unplaced and the companies now visiting the campus are Chennai based startups. Hardly 4-5 good brands visit the campus and the shortlisting in most of the companies is luck based. So, even if you are a analytics/marketing/finance mastermind, you still may have to wait till the end of the program to get placed, that too in a company with no credibility(startups). Mr. Balaji (Placecomm Chief) will not hear you even with your genuine concerns. You can very well compare him with Hitler. He will force you to sit for companies you are least interested in or even if the roles offered by the companies are not in line with your majors/minors. If you don’t apply for startups, he will ask you for a signature that if you are unplaced till end of the Program, they are not responsible.

During the tenure, you ll feel that you have been thrown in a place to suffer (in a jail). The quality of SOME of the professors is dismal and you can’t do any damn thing to change the faculty. On the website the list of electives offered is extensive, but most of them would get scrapped, eventually leaving you with subjects you would not be interested in. The authorities care the least for the students, it just business for them. They don’t give a heck to student’s genuine concerns. A professor convicted of sexual harassment was still on duty for 2-3 years after found guilty.

You can comment below, if you doubt the genuineness of this post and I will give proofs.
