I started a Driver Helper for Peak Season which is roughly Oct. thru about Jan 10th(ish) I was 1 of the last Driver Helpers there and after the Job was done I got the call about 2 months later in March from HR asking if I wanted to come back which I did. I came back as an unloaders. In my hub I had a whole belt to unload by myself for the most part. 3 months after I started unloading I was in UPS' Driving School to be a Package Car Driver and another 3 months went by and I was out on the road delivering. I will tell you this, working at UPS is not for everyone. It doesn't matter if you are a leader, Unloader or Driver because you literally have to bust your butt 210% all the time. UPS is NOT for everyone but if you are able to make it I would say it is worth it just be prepared to work your ass off all the time. I had a lady approach me one day ask how could she get a job delivering because she said, “ all you guys do is drive around in the trucks” which is so far from the truth it's not even funny. My advice is to start out as a driver helper and get your feet wet so to speak and if u make it from there then try and get hired in working in the warehouse because that is the best way to eventually start driving but just prepared to work your ass off like you have never done before.
