Rough. It's not a job for the weak or lazy. Period. Preload, the shift that gets the pkg cars loaded for that days route, is a fast paced, need - to - know - your - stuff kind of shift. Each and every pkg car has a certain way to be loaded and you have to be able to “shift" your load job if necessary to accommodate bulk or bulky pkgs. Between pulling your pkgs from the belt and loading your cars correctly , you definatly stay fast on your feet and quick with your mind. But for me, at the end of the day, knowing my drivers had a quality load that might save them time throughout the day, was worth all the hustle.
