So we’re allowing plagiarism now?

This question is good evidence that Quora shouldn’t have started a program to incentivize questions by turning it into a competition/commission payout. Because this is what they’re going to do. They’re going to attempt to game the system in the sleaziest of ways. When they’re not asking questions about the most basic topics that literally nobody is struggling with (e.g. “How to add 2+2 in <language>”), or something you could google in 2 seconds (e.g. “how to print ‘hello world’ in python”), they’re going around stealing six-year-old questions from other websites and passing them off as their own.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

PSA: Quora has hidden my answer for “violating the be nice policy”, thereby sweeping the issue of actual plagiarism under the rug and ruining their own reputation as a Q&A site. The link above is proof that this question is plagiarised. You can go into the log and see when the question was posted, and you can follow the StackOverflow link and see that the other question—the exact same question word-for-word—was asked six years earlier. My answer does not need to be hidden. The question needs to be deleted. The sheer fact that I have reported this question for plagiarism and the mods have taken action against me instead of the plagiarist is disgusting and outrageous. Plagiarism should NOT be condoned or tolerated. You, Quora, should be ashamed of yourself.
