I live in a country that was ranked 6th amongst the wealthiest countries in the world at the beginning of the 20th century and is now on its knees with poverty levels of roughly 40%. And it happened because of a long string of populist, demagogic criminals who took over the country in the 30s and never stopped looting it.

When I look at Trump, I see exactly the same kind of narcissistic-psychopathic-liar-egomaniac-megalomaniac that have been destroying the society where I live for decades. I don’t need to listen to all that he says to know exactly what he will end up saying. He is predictable. Every single word that comes out his mouth is either a lie or complete bullshit to seduce his crowd.

He builds up his power base by targeting to a very vocal, active and angry portion of his country’s demographics. He manages to build it and keep it by gaining their loyalty, and by insulting and menacing all the others. This kind of divisive leadership is the trademark of all the Latin American banana dictators I’ve seen throughout my 47 years of life.

Great leaders unite their people. Destructive leaders divide them.

Trump is the second type of leader. At most, he will manage to make his tribe happy, perpetuating the virtual reality he aims to create by targeting free media and harassing any critical voice out there. Anything that opposes his Tweeted reality is a lie.

He will create enemies here and there. Critical media will be “the opposition,” “the liars,” and ultimately the “anti-patriots” who hate America. Being a patriot would be being with him. Being a traitor would be being against him. He has already created what in my country is known as “the rift”; a huge trench that divides society in two halves.

Longtime friendships will get broken. Families will get divided. Brothers will stop talking to each other. Marriages will end because of the pure, constant hatred generated by Trump’s reign of lies and bullying.

EDIT: Judging by the comments below so far, it seems that most Americans look at this as a right-wing vs left-wing confrontation. I don't. I see in Trump many of the traits typically seen in leftist Latin American leaders: protectionism, intolerance of free media, prepotency, nepotism and corruption.

In today's world, when the Chinese Communist Party is the new leader of free markets while the U.S Republicans build walls, we should probably redefine our political tags.

This does not directly answer the question, but might add something useful. I lived most of my adult life in New York City.

Donald Trump got himself on the front page of the tabloid New York Daily News at least once a week. He was the kid in class who would do anything for attention.

People would talk about his latest antics for 2–3 minutes at the water cooler and move on. But, they would talk. He was universally dismissed, the way you would roll your eyes over the class clown. How can Larry be so dumb? He’s gonna get in real trouble one day. On and on and on. Donald Trump was a running joke; no

How can Larry be so dumb? He’s gonna get in real trouble one day. On and on and on. Donald Trump was a running joke; no one took him seriously; heaven knows, no one respected him.

This was without any political considerations: left/right, liberal/conservative. No one ever thought of him in any of those terms. He was a buffoon, a lousy businessman, coarse, crude, vulgar, pompous, and HE made himself a laughingstock, basically parading his ignorance.

He was a cartoon of a used car salesman, loud, grossly self-centered, telling anyone who would listen “secrets” about himself he should have been deeply embarrassed about (lusting after his own daughter?) all mixed in with vast numbers of lies.

And please, do not for a minute think that everyone in NYC is liberal. The city elected Rudy Giuliani, remember.

But one thing they were nearly unanimous about is that Donald Trump would make an horrendous leader of anything. This supposed deal-maker could not get invited to a hospital board of directors, partly because it was widely known that would renege on any pledge, any contribution, any responsibility. He was worthless and only cared about getting attention, getting attention, getting attention.

That he became president is beyond stunning, of course. It is still hard to believe. But, oddly, as a therapist, even more amazing is that he is in the ultimate position for getting attention all the time…and it doesn’t seem to make any difference.

Convincing Women to wear pants:

Thinking women should be allowed to vote:

Practicing dark magic and signing pacts with the devil:

He moved the U.S. Embassy causing more dissension in the Middle East. He repeals everything former President Obama put in place simply because he is trying to be the alpha male. He has denigrated immigrants. He has alienated our foreign allies. He has declared war on the press. He has declared war on the poor by cutting social service programs in his budget. His plan for a military parade costs millions that could feed the homeless veterans of this country. In fact I could go on and on but it gets tiring after awhile.

That’s why we have zero respect. It’s not that “our side” lost. John McCain would have been the best Republican president…not the fool in the White House.

He is a poor excuse for a human being let alone POTUS.

Well, because he is loathsome. If you don’t see that, you are deluded. There have been personally admirable Republicans (John McCain) with whom I would disagree on most every element of policy, but whose patriotism and sincerity of belief I would not argue. Donald Trump is not that. He is lying, ignorant, opportunistic scum who degrades the office of the presidency daily. He, and every person who has enabled his sham presidency should be banned and shunned forever.

Well, as a good old-fashioned real liberal, I disagree with his statism & protectionism. I don’t loathe him for that, though. I loathe him for being a liar, coward (his draft-dodging), bully, swindler (have you heard of the so-called Trump University?), self-confessed molester of women . . . oh, so many, many things!

It still astonishes me that he has defenders, especially as many of them claim to be devout Christians. Why do they love a man who is a walking, talking affront to the values they profess?

There is an entirely different set of reasons to dislike him based on his pronouncements on foreign policy. These include saying that the United States “might not” help to defend a NATO member that had not spent enough on its military, and “why not” use atomic weapons, and let’s cancel multilateral trade agreements and build a wall next to one of our friends and neighbours and force that friend and neighbour to pay for it (converting it into an enemy) and let’s revisit that “One China” policy that is so important to China and see how friendly they stay.

Notice I said “dislike” him, rather than “loathe vehemently.” My treatment program continues to go well.

But what really caught my attention was when he casually mentioned he was retired at 45 with more money than he could ever spend. I couldn’t help but ask, “How did you do it?”

He smiled and said, “The secret to saving money is knowing where to look for the waste—and car insurance is one of the easiest places to start.”

He then walked me through a few strategies that I’d never thought of before. Here’s what I learned:

1. Make insurance companies fight for your business

Most people just stick with the same insurer year after year, but that’s what the companies are counting on. This guy used tools like Coverage.com to compare rates every time his policy came up for renewal. It only took him a few minutes, and he said he’d saved hundreds each year by letting insurers compete for his business.

Click here to try Coverage.com and see how much you could save today.

2. Take advantage of safe driver programs

He mentioned that some companies reward good drivers with significant discounts. By signing up for a program that tracked his driving habits for just a month, he qualified for a lower rate. “It’s like a test where you already know the answers,” he joked.

You can find a list of insurance companies offering safe driver discounts here and start saving on your next policy.

3. Bundle your policies

He bundled his auto insurance with his home insurance and saved big. “Most companies will give you a discount if you combine your policies with them. It’s easy money,” he explained. If you haven’t bundled yet, ask your insurer what discounts they offer—or look for new ones that do.

4. Drop coverage you don’t need

He also emphasized reassessing coverage every year. If your car isn’t worth much anymore, it might be time to drop collision or comprehensive coverage. “You shouldn’t be paying more to insure the car than it’s worth,” he said.

5. Look for hidden fees or overpriced add-ons

One of his final tips was to avoid extras like roadside assistance, which can often be purchased elsewhere for less. “It’s those little fees you don’t think about that add up,” he warned.

The Secret? Stop Overpaying

The real “secret” isn’t about cutting corners—it’s about being proactive. Car insurance companies are counting on you to stay complacent, but with tools like Coverage.com and a little effort, you can make sure you’re only paying for what you need—and saving hundreds in the process.

If you’re ready to start saving, take a moment to:

Saving money on auto insurance doesn’t have to be complicated—you just have to know where to look. If you'd like to support my work, feel free to use the links in this post—they help me continue creating valuable content.

I hate Trump and sons to my very core, not because they espouse things like reversing immigration or promoting America first laws that encourage American manufacturing, I hate them because they are painfully stoooopid people who have been elevated to the level of messiah by an undereducated and angry base. We’re talking prewar Germany in the 1930’s, here folks. Though slightly more evil, Hitler was a Rhodes scholar in comparison to the Orange Clown. Either case, what moron runs around making national security decisions by believing he is smarter than the experts? What the fools in the Republican party fail to realize is this rapid escalation of rightwing animosity either ends in a civil war resulting in two much weaker countries and/or the end of democracy throughout the world. Are these the goals and principles of the party of Lincoln? Plain and simple, thoughtful conservatism has been hijacked by an Australian muckraker/billionaire whose only true goal is to make billions more by stirring the pot of mindless conspiracies and distrust of “the other side”! Remember the good ol’days where boring compromise made us the strongest and wealthiest country on the planet, back when we had an eye on the future and were moving forward? Now we are at each others’ collective throats spurred on by people (the ultra rich) who employ public opinion to keep the status quo. I don’t hate my buddy ranchers or conservative neighbors, but they’re the ones I will have to battle with when the blood starts flying, not the puppeteers who orchestrated the division in the first place. Trump, if not for his obnoxious self-promotion as a genius billionaire who got his start from a “small loan” of a million dollars from his father (actually $50 million in combined loans adjusted for inflation), would not be capable of running a hot dog cart. Despite having more than ample opportunity to educate himself in the highest halls of education, instead chose the lifestyle of some fratboy jetsetting international playboy who sees and promotes his own daughter as a fine piece of ass. Quite the posterboy for radical religionists, eh? I fail to see how anyone living in a trailer could possibly see the Orange Turd for anything other than what he is. A fraud who trades on his father’s name, who has the moral sensibilities of a drug addled prostitute, who can’t find an American woman willing or worthy of marrying him, who is a scholastic failure despite his advantages and super-duper, some people would say, intelligence (for passing a cognitive test, really?), who plays to and echoes the worst of his worshippers, who called for the assasination of his political opponents, who gutted environmental and trade laws to benefit himself and his cadre of low-life buddies, who benefited monetarily directly using his office, who openly called for Russian interference in our elections, who incited an insurrection that resulted in the murder of a capitol policeman (law and order party, my ass). Note how many of these “accomplishments” are out and out felonies. Speaking of felonies, I cringe at the thought that this idiot had enough forethought that he could delay earlier felony prosectutions against him by actually becoming the POTUS by rallying the anger of the shirtless beer guts, like some horrific game show or sitcom, and it worked! My question to anyone is what can you not hate about this bloated narcissistic meglomaniac? I hated him long before he got into politics, I hated him as a candidate, I hated him as President, I hate him as an ex-president, and God willing, after his ten thousandth filet-o-fish kills him, I will have my opportunity to fill his coffin with human excrement.

Donald J. Trump is an opportunist!

He’s a cold blooded calculating liar, that thinks of no one but himself. Period. Some people say he’s insane. I don’t disagree because I see the effects he’s having on this nation and -because of the great power of the presidency- on the world.

Donald J. Trump is causing this nation and the world to go insane.

Disliking, loathing, hating Trump has nothing to do with politics.

I disliked Nixon, Reagan and W. Bush, not for who they were but for their politics. I disagreed with them. But I disagreed with Ike, H.W. Bush, and Ford without actually disliking them.

But Trump? Every cell of my body loathes Trump because of the sorry excuse for a human being he is. He should never have been elected president. That he was, I see as a major fault in our nation, in our Constitution. That he got as many votes as he did and even now still gets a third of our voters to agree with him, I look at that as a major fault in how our voters are educated.

Trump is different. Not a good “different” as in a surprise birthday party, but “different” as a cancerous mole on your shoulder that is not going away.

If you don’t see the chaos, the insanity that is Trump you don’t have your eyes open.

Trump is unlike any American leader I’ve ever seen. Trump is evil.

1. Cancel Your Car Insurance

You might not even realize it, but your car insurance company is probably overcharging you. In fact, they’re kind of counting on you not noticing. Luckily, this problem is easy to fix.

Don’t waste your time browsing insurance sites for a better deal. A company called Insurify shows you all your options at once — people who do this save up to $996 per year.

If you tell them a bit about yourself and your vehicle, they’ll send you personalized quotes so you can compare them and find the best one for you.

Tired of overpaying for car insurance? It takes just five minutes to compare your options with Insurify and see how much you could save on car insurance.

2. Ask This Company to Get a Big Chunk of Your Debt Forgiven

A company called National Debt Relief could convince your lenders to simply get rid of a big chunk of what you owe. No bankruptcy, no loans — you don’t even need to have good credit.

If you owe at least $10,000 in unsecured debt (credit card debt, personal loans, medical bills, etc.), National Debt Relief’s experts will build you a monthly payment plan. As your payments add up, they negotiate with your creditors to reduce the amount you owe. You then pay off the rest in a lump sum.

On average, you could become debt-free within 24 to 48 months. It takes less than a minute to sign up and see how much debt you could get rid of.

3. You Can Become a Real Estate Investor for as Little as $10

Take a look at some of the world’s wealthiest people. What do they have in common? Many invest in large private real estate deals. And here’s the thing: There’s no reason you can’t, too — for as little as $10.

An investment called the Fundrise Flagship Fund lets you get started in the world of real estate by giving you access to a low-cost, diversified portfolio of private real estate. The best part? You don’t have to be the landlord. The Flagship Fund does all the heavy lifting.

With an initial investment as low as $10, your money will be invested in the Fund, which already owns more than $1 billion worth of real estate around the country, from apartment complexes to the thriving housing rental market to larger last-mile e-commerce logistics centers.

Want to invest more? Many investors choose to invest $1,000 or more. This is a Fund that can fit any type of investor’s needs. Once invested, you can track your performance from your phone and watch as properties are acquired, improved, and operated. As properties generate cash flow, you could earn money through quarterly dividend payments. And over time, you could earn money off the potential appreciation of the properties.

So if you want to get started in the world of real-estate investing, it takes just a few minutes to sign up and create an account with the Fundrise Flagship Fund.

This is a paid advertisement. Carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of the Fundrise Real Estate Fund before investing. This and other information can be found in the Fund’s prospectus. Read them carefully before investing.

4. Earn Up to $50 this Month By Answering Survey Questions About the News — It’s Anonymous

The news is a heated subject these days. It’s hard not to have an opinion on it.

Good news: A website called YouGov will pay you up to $50 or more this month just to answer survey questions about politics, the economy, and other hot news topics.

Plus, it’s totally anonymous, so no one will judge you for that hot take.

When you take a quick survey (some are less than three minutes), you’ll earn points you can exchange for up to $50 in cash or gift cards to places like Walmart and Amazon. Plus, Penny Hoarder readers will get an extra 500 points for registering and another 1,000 points after completing their first survey.

It takes just a few minutes to sign up and take your first survey, and you’ll receive your points immediately.

5. This Online Bank Account Pays 10x More Interest Than Your Traditional Bank

If you bank at a traditional brick-and-mortar bank, your money probably isn’t growing much (c’mon, 0.40% is basically nothing).1

But there’s good news: With SoFi Checking and Savings (member FDIC), you stand to gain up to a hefty 3.80% APY on savings when you set up a direct deposit or have $5,000 or more in Qualifying Deposits and 0.50% APY on checking balances2 — savings APY is 10 times more than the national average.1

Right now, a direct deposit of at least $1K not only sets you up for higher returns but also brings you closer to earning up to a $300 welcome bonus (terms apply).3

You can easily deposit checks via your phone’s camera, transfer funds, and get customer service via chat or phone call. There are no account fees, no monthly fees and no overdraft fees.* And your money is FDIC insured (up to $3M of additional FDIC insurance through the SoFi Insured Deposit Program).4

It’s quick and easy to open an account with SoFi Checking and Savings (member FDIC) and watch your money grow faster than ever.

If you have credit card debt, you know. The anxiety, the interest rates, the fear you’re never going to escape… but a website called AmONE wants to help.

If you owe your credit card companies $100,000 or less, AmONE will match you with a low-interest loan you can use to pay off every single one of your balances.

The benefit? You’ll be left with one bill to pay each month. And because personal loans have lower interest rates (AmONE rates start at 6.40% APR), you’ll get out of debt that much faster.

It takes less than a minute and just 10 questions to see what loans you qualify for.

6. Earn Up to $225 This Month Playing Games on Your Phone

Ever wish you could get paid just for messing around with your phone? Guess what? You totally can.

Here are some facts for you.

The coronavirus is the first nationwide emergency on Trump’s watch. The Trump administration failed in job one with the coronavirus which was to get testing produced and distributed in large numbers as quickly as possible.

Countries who took this approach and went all out have a death rate of less than 10 per 1 million population. The U.S. did not do this. The death rate in the U.S. is more than 120 per 1 million population and rising.

If the U.S. had taken an aggressive stance and succeeded in rolling out testing in a timely manner the death toll would have been much lower.

Currently we have had more than 40,000 deaths.

If testing had been rolled out efficiently and there has been a strong public health response in conjunction with having the proper tools the death toll would have been under 3,000.

That is 37,000 deaths directly attributable to the incompetence of the current administration.

That is not hate. Those are the facts. You can lie to yourselves all you want. The facts will not go away or change just because you don;t want to believe them.

What is there about Donald Trump, at any time in his life, which you can point to and say, “This shows him to be an honorable human being?”

I don’t like any draft dodging, lying, narcissistic, con man and grifter. This is not just limited to Trump, although he is a prime example.

Let's look at another incident, shall we?

This shows us that:

* He mocks people because of their disabilities.
* He bullies people because of their physical differences.

Okay, so he mocks disabled people. But who else does he mock...

Modern “liberals” tend to fall under the umbrella of “social liberalism”, which emphasizes equality, civil rights, and the expansion of liberties to all. Trump’s actions, rhetoric, and official positions on policy threaten the expansion of civil rights, limit liberties, and do not bode well for the goal of equality. One cannot expect social liberals to lay down and accept the administration of policies that actively work against their ideals, especially when the majority of voters did not vote for him.

Hillary herself makes two immediate choices. First, she appoints as National Security adviser a man who has extensive monetary links to Russia, and is also quietly being paid by Turkey to advance their interests. This National Security adviser lies, lies and lies again about these links, until he is caught out. This is all exposed by hard work in the media, and as the pressure builds, he is finally fired. Clinton expresses regret about this and sends him texts telling him to “Stay strong”.

Second, Hillary immediately appoints Chelsea as her special adviser. Chelsea accompanies her mother on trips, sits in on meetings with foreign leaders and deputises for her in meetings, while promoting her perfume range via the White House spokesman. Her husband, Marc Mezinsky is brought in to the Clinton administration and given a central role: amongst many other things, he is put in charge of sorting out the Middle East. Despite his zero policy experience, he quickly becomes one of the most powerful figures in the Clinton administration. His construction businesses explicitly reference his contacts with the White House as they pitch for business around the world.

The Democratic Party say all this is fine, and defend Hillary.

A few months into the administration, Chelsea is found to have taken meetings with Russian intelligence operatives, brokered by a shady character who promised her damaging information on Trump, saying:

This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government's support for Secretary Clinton - helped along by Aras and Emin.

Chelsea immediately replies, not in the least questioning that there is a larger programme of Russian government support for her mother, but saying:

Thanks Rob I appreciate that. I am on the road at the moment but perhaps I just speak to Emin first. Seems we have some time and if it's what you say I love it especially later in the summer. Could we do a call first thing next week when I am back?

Best,

Chelsea

On the point of being exposed by the New York Times, Chelsea releases the emails and claim that they show nothing untoward at all.

Despite Chelsea herself releasing the emails and admitting that the meeting really did take place, Hillary supporters are able to isolate themselves from reality — a week later, polling finds that 45% of Hillary voters did not believe that Chelsea had taken part in any such meeting.

The Democratic party say that all this is fine, defend Chelsea and say Hillary probably didn’t know about it.

Meanwhile, Hillary reveals code-word information to the Russian ambassador, without permission from the country who supplied the intelligence. Despite the resulting diplomatic storm, she shrugs this off, claiming that since she is President she entitled to tell the Russians whatever she likes.

Hillary quickly takes to insulting foreign leaders and making up policy live on Twitter. She plays golf every weekend on her own courses, while her major policies are blocked by the courts and others fail despite having a Democratic majority in both Houses. She lets guests at her resort photograph her being briefed on security matters. One day she claims that George W. Bush bugged her phones. Her staff defends her comments as reasonable, and claims that their microwave ovens are listening to them.

The Democratic party say all this is fine, and defend Hillary.

Meanwhile, Hillary’s emails are still causing her trouble, so she holds a meeting with the head of the FBI. She asks others in the room to leave before requesting that he shut down the investigation. He refuses and writes up what he has been asked to do. Hillary fires him. She says that this is because he is not doing a good job, and has nothing to do with any investigation.

The Democratic Party remain absolutely fine with all this, defend Hillary, and attack the media for reporting on any of this.

Meanwhile these same Democrats repeatedly fail to get any bills passed in a House and Senate they control, due entirely to their own political incompetence. They attack the media for reporting this too.

We haven’t covered a tenth of it. But try to imagine that situation. Try to taste it. Blatant nepotism; a poisonous mix of stupidity, corruption and shameless self-interest, eating away at America’s civil society, supported and cheered on by one of the major parties. If you love and respect American values, the taste may be physical: it’ll bring bile into your mouth.

That is why liberals hate Trump so much.

Despite this we hear the relentless hatred and contempt directed at Obama, Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party that comes from Republicans without a note of respect for our views. So maybe we should be asking Republicans, why do you think Democrats are beneath YOU? And do you recognize your own hypocrisy?

That said, Trump is certainly beneath the standards that any American should expect in our president. And that is the point: he isn’t good enough to be president and that has nothing to do with how I see myself in comparison to him or any Trump supporter. He lacks the experience, knowledge and demeanor appropriate for the office.

The idea of a person like that, sitting in the White House is rather scary. Even scarier than having Trump as Commander-in-Chief, is the idea that a large part of the electorate is so lacking in sensible judgement, that it could elect a repugnant orange slug like this, to public office. That really is quite frightening. I doubt there is another nation in the world, that is underpinned by democratic principles, that could possibly elect this inept orange oaf to public office.

Buyer's remorse will set in, shortly after Trump imposes those tariffs he keeps telling everybody that China is going to pay. People will quickly learn about that at the checkout - (and it won't be China doing the paying).

On the suggestion of a few commenters on my most popular answer on Quora, I’ll just have to go all Excel on this and start with the Double Alphabet

AA - The Dunning -Kruger Effect. Trump knows more about the Dunning-Kruger effect than either Dunning or Kruger. The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability.

Donald Trump Is The Dunning — Kruger Effect Personified [ https://medium.com/@martiesirois/donald-trump-is-the-dunning-kruger-effect-personified-60f8b0160005 ]

The best example I can think of on this is the following quote from November 2015:

"I know more about ISIS [the Islamic State militant group] than the generals do. Believe me." — Donald Trump

When Trump was asked to rate his presidency so far, he gave himself an A+. I could go on about that but I’ve already covered it.

Chris O'Leary's answer to Trump gives his presidency an A+ so far. How would you rate him? [ https://www.quora.com/Trump-gives-his-presidency-an-A-so-far-How-would-you-rate-him/answer/Chris-OLeary-19 ]

Look. There’s nothing wrong with being incompetent, lacking experience, having little ability or frankly, even being stupid. But to combine that with actually believing you are the most competent, have the greatest ability and as Trump himself said: “I consult myself on foreign policy, 'because I have a very good brain” — it’s just flat out dangerous in someone sitting in the seat of perhaps the greatest responsibility in the world.

AB- He’s a TERRIBLE leader. Leader, boss, HMFIC, whatever. He’s TERRIBLE at it.

Before being promoted to E-4, (Corporal) A Marine has to take a course on leadership and part of that course involves the study of the Marine Corps Non-Commissioned Officer’s Handbook. I learned the most important lesson on leadership from that manual. “The primary responsibility of any leader is the welfare of the troops at their command.” Note that didn't say “The welfare of SOME of the troops at their command.”

There’s a lot to leadership from an elected official, especially the President.

Let’s focus for a minute on his internal team. What’s it like to work in the White House these days? I think the best I can come up with a gauge on that is a quote from one of his direct reports, Gen. Kelly — “This is the worst job I’ve ever had.”

He can’t keep a team around him, because he treats everyone around him like absolute crap, fodder for the cannons, and he can’t attract new good people because anyone with half a brain wouldn’t take a job in the White House these days if you gave them half the money Trump owes Russia.

Now he’s not just the boss over the executive branch of the government. He’s the President of the United States. Which is leadership on a whole nother level.

“With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility” — Uncle Ben.

A leader is there to support, defend and take care of everyone he’s responsible for. Not just the rich, not just the guys who have an affinity for red hats with white writing, not just the people who kiss his ass, everyone. Trump hasn’t learned that lesson.

“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.” — Abraham Lincoln

AC - He’s an awful negotiator. (And even worse, he thinks he’s good at it, See Dunning-Kruger Again.) Take North Korea. In exchange for North Korea promising to do what they have promised to do 7 times already and has never done:

All the Times North Korea Promised to Denuclearize [ https://www.wired.com/story/north-korea-summit-denuclearize-history/ ]

He essentially gave away the FARM on Military exercises in South Korea to the absolute HORROR of Gen. Mattis. I’ve actually taken part (Peripherally) in those exercises. They are a HUGE part of military readiness of the troops stationed all over that corner of the world, not just Korea. They are of VITAL importance to our military readiness as a whole and have little to do specifically with readiness to beat North Korea. (Little, not nothing. Commanders anywhere near Korea see readiness as it relates to North Korea as a very high priority.)

AD - The Deplorables. The Deplorables are not Donald Trump, but the question is about why he’s loathed, and the deplorables are a part of that.

Now let’s be clear about something. When I say “The Deplorables” I do NOT mean “Conservatives” I ALSO do not mean “People who voted for Donald Trump” I do not even mean “People who really love Trump,” although you’re starting to get close there.

I mean “The Deplorables” in EXACTLY the way Hillary Clinton said it, and EXACTLY the way she meant it.

Let’s take a look at that, shall we?

Note— If you do not fully read the following quote, and I mean all of it, your comments on this post will be ignored, because it will be obvious you didn't read it. Every last italicized word.

“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. (Laughter/applause) Right? (Laughter/applause) They're racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic – Islamophobic – you name it. And unfortunately, there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people – now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive hateful mean-spirited rhetoric. Now, some of those folks – they are irredeemable, but thankfully, they are not America.

But the "other" basket – the other basket – and I know because I look at this crowd I see friends from all over America here: I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas and — as well as, you know, New York and California — but that "other" basket of people are people who feel the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures; and they're just desperate for change. It doesn't really even matter where it comes from. They don't buy everything he says, but — he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won't wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they're in a dead-end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well.” —Hillary Clinton

So. Did she call YOU deplorable?

Which basket are you in? I think most people would contend they are in the second basket, right? That’s what most Trump voters I’ve talked to say.

So —

Are you a racist? No?

Then no. She did not call you deplorable.

Are you sexist? No?

Then no. She did not call you deplorable.

Are you a homophobe? No?

Then no, she did not call you a deplorable.

SO, if you changed your handle on Twitter the day after she said it to “Deplorable Tim” then what you are saying isn’t “I support Donald Trump.” What you’re in fact saying is “I support Donald Trump and I’m “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic – Islamophobic – you name it.”

You’re not those things? Oh.

THEN SHE WASN’T TALKING ABOUT YOU AND MADE THAT ABSOLUTELY CLEAR!!!!!

Now. If you DO fit that mold. And if you do fit it proudly. You know who you are, I’m talking to the ones with the Tiki Torches, the collection of Nazi paraphernalia, the ones doing the Nazi Salutes saying “Hail Trump!” Yes, you. The ones spray painting swastikas on Jewish headstones. The ones harassing women on the subway because they’re wearing head scarfs.

You are one of the BIG reasons we hate HIS guts. WHY? Because he doesn't have a problem with YOU.

AE - Tariffs. Yes, yes, Tariffs. Here’s a 1998 paper from the Conservative / Libertarian think tank Cato about how effective tariffs are as a protectionist measure (Hint - here’s the last line “Yet protectionist policies have not been the source of America’s economic strength. And American policy, fortunately, remains largely directed toward free trade.”)

The Truth about Trade in History [ https://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/truth-about-trade-history ]

He made disparaging remarks about a war hero because that hero had been captured. Trump then held his wife up against another man’s wife to compare their beauty. Trump then followed this with an attempt to convince us with a picture that the same man’s father was associated with President Kennedy’s assassination. There’s been nothing but dishonorable conduct and attempted deception from him at every turn. We were recently told to not listen to what he says, but to look into his heart. What??? That’s a joke right?

He is, from what I can see, trying his hardest to get us into World War III. He doesn’t seem to care that he is pushing us away from every country except Russia. I could go on and on. It’s just a seemingly endless list of new problems he creates every single day.

As if this wasn’t bad enough, approximately 80 percent of the people who share my faith voted this man into office. This is horrifying to me. We are taught to love our neighbors as ourselves. At least Christianity Today magazine came out against him, so at least I know that I am not alone in my feelings about this man as a Christian. Christianity Today, started by Billy Graham, is one of the most well respected Christian magazines in print.

I would like everyone to know that not all Christians hold the views of Trump. I would further like to assert that I do not believe any true Christian could ever agree with or support the views of Steve Bannon and the alt right, and continue following Christ at the same time. I can not imagine how a Christian could ever, ever reconcile the alt right, neo-Nazi agenda with their faith. Many Christians seem to be looking the other way, accepting someone with evil beliefs controlling the White House, simply because a Republican happens to fit their political agenda. In doing this they are compromising the very foundation of their Christian faith, not to mention the meaning of being an American.

I have nothing but love for my Muslim neighbors. Obviously, we do not agree religiously, but that does not mean that we can’t respect each other, and cherish each other’s right to practice our faiths freely in this country. This country was founded on immigration and religious liberty. We have always accepted the idea of the tired, the poor, and the huddled masses yearning to breath free, arriving on our shores. My own Mennonite ancestors came to America specifically for its religious freedom, and its willingness to take in those who are persecuted. What have we become as a nation? I would gladly risk my life any day to stay true to my principles as a Christian. I am called to love and have concern for others. I am called to take up my cross and follow Him. I am called to love my neighbor as myself. I am not called to judge others. I do not care where you were born or what faith you follow. I do not care if you are white, black, brown or purple. I believe that God loves you just as much as he loves me, whomever you are. If any other Christians agree with me, please speak up. We need to speak up now, before it is too late. If there are Christians who disagree with me, I would very much like to hear you Biblically defend your position.

Oh, and to answer your question directly, I do not loathe Trump, I am afraid of him and I pity him for his many obvious insecurities.

Regardless of party affiliation we should loathe him for what he is and who he is bought by.

I am a veteran. I spent three winters stationed in cold war Germany training to fight and kill men like Putin. We don’t have a peace treaty with Russia, and they’ve never been our friends, uneasy allies at best. And despite the fact that history has documented their election meddling tactics, their history of assassinating critics, the current occupant of the white house continues to suck up to him. While in Germany I watched as a Polish election that should have gone to a semi pro western candidate was stolen from a man who genuinely loved his country and wanted to move away from Russia/USSR because several of his campaign leaders were victims of Kompromat. If you don’t know what that is, go look it up.

I almost voted for McCain, well, before he handed his spine over and agreed to Palin as his VP running mate. So you really can’t accuse me of being a yellow dog democrat.

Trump is a narcissist egomaniac who will tell you what you want to hear then toss you under the bus. If you actually believe what he’s telling you, then you deserve whatever you get.

I actually took the time to read his “tax reform act”. Looks good for some right now, but next year, to quote Stephen from Braveheart “you’re fooked”. Go read it all. Believe me, it isn’t going to do you any favors.

And at the end of it all, when those who voted for him begin in stages crying out about him “betraying” you, I’m going to laugh. Yes, I really am that much of an asshole. Don’t forget this, we tried to tell you.
