Baltimore Sun is a well-known left-wing newspaper in bed with the State of Maryland. Dr. Geier was trashed by this journalistic rag in several articles for his style of practice. Yet when he won nearly three million dollars against the corrupt members of the unscrupulous Maryland medical board the paper was silent.

I guess you should write to the Baltimore Sun and ask them why. They probably have a reason.

If every order or ruling has to be accompanied by an Opinion the legal process would rapidly grind to a halt. I would also add that whether a position, in the form of a ruling or order, is “insupportable" (or “supportable") is somewhat subjective.

As a lawyer practicing in the area of civil litigation for somewhat over 30-years I encountered rulings or orders in other areas of law that I didn't understand (seemed “unsupportable") until I asked another lawyer specializing in the particular area of law or who was involved in the case for an explanation of the probable reason for the ruling or ord

As for unpublished opinions, these usually are either so limited to the facts of the case or are simply a rehash of long established law that they hold no value.

If in the course of your job - to say nothing of every life's decision you make - you had to explain or justify - would you be able to?

Favor for favor. It sounds as if the Maryland legislature is equally corrupt and recognizes kindred spirits.

Commenters might expose the ignorance or mendacity of the journalists. The whole point of contemporary journalism is propaganda. There is no benefit for them to allow the great unwashed to pick holes in their carefully constructed narratives. A better question would be why they ever allowed comments in the first place.

>Why would a newspaper, such as the Baltimore Sun, prevent readers from commenting after each article?

Hello, visitor from another solar system! On Earth, internet comments sections, if not heavily moderated, are cesspools.

Some newspapers are willing to spend the money to moderate them. The New York Times does a great job with this. So do the blogs in the old Gawker empire: Jezebel, Splinter, Gizmodo, Deadpan, etc.

Just about everywhere else the comments are monstrous, and it’s perfectly understandable that a respectable paper would not want them associated with its content.

Why stop with newspapers? Would you expect network television to air your, and everyone else's, opinions about each story aired?

There is no entitlement to access someone else's website.

Obama gave them 1.8 billion of American taxpayer money and the only thing they can show for it is a bunch of rats. It is on the edge of being Detroit’s sister city.

Thus, the Block (a bit larger than one block) was established next to Baltimore's Police Headquarters and Central Police District House at the east end of the block. Although they cannot do the same with drug-trafficking for obvious reasons, users know where to go and residents know to avoid them. It leaves more than 90% of the city safe for normal behavior and enjoyment.

Additionally, organized crime to whatever degree it may exist, is virtually 0 compared to nearby cities like Philadelphia & New York. Payoffs to begin construction projects, a standard practice in NYC doesn’t occur in Baltimore. The notion of corruption is a Trump fabrication or fantasy.
