I am a maintenance technician for a hotel. Ive been there just over a year now. One night about 10:30 pm comes around i get a call. It is the front desk. Our front desk girl frantically yelling tells me go to this room. There is a snake in the room! I thought to myself something was miscommunicated between the guest and the front desk. I go into the room to find three people absolutely terified out of thier minds. Now this room is a two bedroom with a pullout sofa. This snake was wrapped around the pullout sofa. Get this… right where you have to grab to pull it out. I did everything i could do to help the guest to a new room all of them in pjs. I carted all of thier luggage and what not. Now keep in mind we dont offer a bellhop service at my particular hotel. Anyways back to the snake. I go back to the room where the snake was and start researching it. Come to find out ita a rubber boa not native to where i live. And it was illegal to own. We caught the poor thing and found a facility that specializes in exotic animals and reptiles. The guest was comped thier stay and one more stay in the future. Ill post pics of this snake. It is the most gentle snake i have ever come across. This is by far the most unusal thing i have found in a room though. By far.

Edit: Thank you all so much for the support on this story. I didn’t really expect to get that many views on my second answer ever. It really was a cool experience. No harm was done to the beautiful female rubber boa. And they guests where happy with how we handled it.

For the people calling me out on not being an engineer. I never once said i was an engineer. I simply put that I work in engineering. I am a Maintanence technician working towards becoming a cheif engineer of a new hotel. Again does not mean I am or will be an egineer it simply means i will be in charge of the egineering of that specific building.
