P1- Tell me about yourself

Me:Told about my college , my current job as maths faculty at FIITJEE

P2 eyes lit up on hearing maths faculty (most likely he was the ISI guy)

P2: Ok since how long have you been working? Which all places have you worked?

Me: I worked at RBS for 5 and half months and post that I have been working at FIITJEE for the past 2 years.

P2: Gave a 2*2 matrix A and asked me to find A^n

Me: Answered it correctly. It followed a pattern in which after finding A^2,A^3 the result could be derived.

P2: Find e^A from the derived result.

Me: Used series expansion of e^A and obtained the result.

P3: Do you know programming?

Me: Yes sir, I did some C programming during my B.Tech.

P3: When did you pass your B.Tech?

Me: 2015

P3: x+y+z=10, find number of integral solutions?

Me: Infinite

P3: How about positive integral solution?

Me : 9C2

P3 : How?

Me: Derived using multinomial.

P3 : What if the values that x can take are [5,10]?

Me: Answered using multinomial using the given constraints on x.

P3 ;interrupted …fine you are doing it right… Do you only teach combinatorics or Probability too?

Me: +2 level probability sir.

P3: Given a single unbiased coin , how can you have equal probability of selection of 3 of us(referring to the panellists) in an exam?

Me : I was struggling….suddenly

P3: Ok if I toss two coins what will the events be? ( It was a clue…after which I could answer)

Me: If we get

HH-P1 selected

HT-P2 selected

TH-P3 selected

TT-Coin must be tossed again

P2: How many times should we continue tossing again?

Me: Till we get a choice other than TT.

P3: Ok

P1: Any extra co-curricular activies you have done in state level or district level

Me: No sir
