Show some signs of effort. Be creative.

I dug up my old dating bio:

“I am getting better at cooking, although I have shared a meal or two with the local fire department. Oops :/

I'm man enough to admit I get nervous on takeoff sometimes, and by sometimes I mean every time. I’m a big fan of dogs, golden retrievers especially, chihuahuas in dresses, not-especially.

I once got pulled onstage at Cirque du Soleil and had to dance with professionally trained ballerinas, and btw, if you are looking for a man with a knack for ballet, I'm not your guy.

Being an over-30 naturally blonde guy, I sometimes get looked at like I'm a unicorn. No, I'm not Swedish or some surfer dude, but I suppose I do resemble a Ken doll from the right angle.

Don't be afraid to say hi. Cool with just starting as friends."

Just keep it light and fun. No need to spill your soul in your bio.

Also, don’t be a dipshit, ok?

Good luck!

If you want casual sex, Tinder is your go to. Much more effective than any “adult” site.

If you want something serious, I’d probably look at Bumble.

Don’t do OkCupid, I just finished two months of a paid account with several boosts looking for a real, loving relationship and got absolutely nowhere. Most of my matches were women who were already married. Some had open relationships, others were cheating due to a lack of sex in their marriage.

Avoid all the senior sites until you are well-past 60, as the demographics are heavily skewed for those who are already retired and pushing 70+.

OurTime - This site is owned by Match Group, so it has the same extensive user base and matching algorithms that have made Match Start Something Great successful. However, OurTime is focused exclusively on users aged 50+ looking for dates in their age range. It's user-friendly, simple to set up a profile, and has lots of helpful search filters by age, location, interests, etc. They also host local singles events specifically for the 50+ crowd.

SilverSingles - SilverSingles has a reputation for attracting high-quality users who are educated professionals looking for meaningful connections. There is an extensive sign-up questionnaire that ensures matches have similar core values/lifestyles for better compatibility. The site verifies all users manually too, so you know profiles are legitimate. They have smartphone apps, user blog/magazine, and experienced matchmakers on staff.

EliteSingles - This site draws a more serious, career-oriented demographic of mature singles looking for lasting love. User profiles tend to include a high level of detail to find truly compatible matches. EliteSingles also restricts its membership base to those 30+ only with an emphasis on members with higher education and income levels. Great for discerning singles.

I hope these give you a good starting point to find over 50 dating sites that work for you! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Where do I start?

I’m a huge financial nerd, and have spent an embarrassing amount of time talking to people about their money habits.

Here are the biggest mistakes people are making and how to fix them:

Not having a separate high interest savings account

Having a separate account allows you to see the results of all your hard work and keep your money separate so you're less tempted to spend it.

Plus with rates above 5.00%, the interest you can earn compared to most banks really adds up.

Overpaying on car insurance

You’ve heard it a million times before, but the average American family still overspends by $417/year on car insurance.

If you’ve been with the same insurer for years, chances are you are one of them.

Pull up Coverage.com, a free site that will compare prices for you, answer the questions on the page, and it will show you how much you could be saving.

That’s it. You’ll likely be saving a bunch of money. Here’s a link to give it a try.

Consistently being in debt

If you’ve got $10K+ in debt (credit cards…medical bills…anything really) you could use a debt relief program and potentially reduce by over 20%.

Here’s how to see if you qualify:

Head over to this Debt Relief comparison website here, then simply answer the questions to see if you qualify.

It’s as simple as that. You’ll likely end up paying less than you owed before and you could be debt free in as little as 2 years.

Missing out on free money to invest

It’s no secret that millionaires love investing, but for the rest of us, it can seem out of reach.

Times have changed. There are a number of investing platforms that will give you a bonus to open an account and get started. All you have to do is open the account and invest at least $25, and you could get up to $1000 in bonus.

Pretty sweet deal right? Here is a link to some of the best options.

Having bad credit

A low credit score can come back to bite you in so many ways in the future.

From that next rental application to getting approved for any type of loan or credit card, if you have a bad history with credit, the good news is you can fix it.

Head over to BankRate.com and answer a few questions to see if you qualify. It only takes a few minutes and could save you from a major upset down the line.

How to get started

Hope this helps! Here are the links to get started:

Have a separate savings account
Stop overpaying for car insurance
Finally get out of debt
Start investing with a free bonus
Fix your credit

Top strategy: Don’t.

Dating is a fucking, and let me emphasize this….A FUCKING DISASTER.

It’s like wrangling a herd of paranoid cats or trying to swim to the moon.

Take my advice as someone who as wasted years in the dating scene…take up another hobby, for your own sake. Happiness cannot be found in a modern women or man, it’s a nightmare of psychological torture the likes of with H.P. lovecraft would be too frightened to mention.

Get a dog, get a cat, buy a motorcycle, literally any of that will be better, more fun and less expensive than modern dating on a god-forsaken dating app.

Use the http://ourtime.com app, that's where I met my guy. If you're a woman always do a background check on the person who wants to date you. If you're a guy always make sure that the lady has a full profile filled out along with a photo. I avoid all listing that have no photo and no profile. This tells me they have something to hide.

Use recent photos of yourself. And have some variety in your photo selections, eg not just selfies, or not just group shots (which one IS he/she?). Include full body shots and things that show your interests.

Don't lie about your age.

Be prepared to actually meet people. It’s the best way to work out if they’re worth it or not. Meet for a coffee somewhere and then maybe go for a walk together and chat.

Now that you're over 50, you have to be careful about your choice of lifepartner. After all, you don't still have time to splurge like young people, and you need stability even more now. Therefore, your choice must be long-term and solid. For the dating app and site, I think, others have told you about many online dating platforms before, and what I can recommend is actually the same. For dating tips, I must say that the most important thing is that your “Three Views” should be consistent. You should discern from your conversations whether the person you are interacting with has a consistent understanding of things as you do. After all, many other things can change, but everyone's thinking is difficult to correct. If the other person and your thoughts are not at the same level, then you will feel very difficult to communicate, at this time, many small problems will be expanded and affect the relationship between the couple. Therefore, as long as the Three Views are consistent, other problems are actually not problems.

That they’re mainly garbage. Real life/in person is always better. Always was and always will be.

For the time I spent on dating platforms, it was both demoralizing and demeaning to me. I gave them (the platforms) chances on and off for a few years and in the end, it was a frustrating waste of time when it never needed to be.

Keep in mind, I never had much of an issue meeting women in person - but that changed once I went online. And I also tried most platforms at one point or another - from the more ‘popular’ and busier platforms to the bottom of the barrel, scammer ridden ones.

I won’t get into it fully as I have more than enough answers on here that describe the many, many, many issues with online dating - but I can safely state that my opinion on dating platforms is not very good. And yes, it’s my opinion only of course.

If there was a positive, again I revert to Quora since I was able to answer quite a lot of questions involving them (good or bad) and I’ve become more ‘educated’ in seeing all the different types of scammers/catfish on there. Another positive is I have a few more stories because of them - none of the stories particularly good though. I guess another positive thing is that I was able to check into a few more places that I normally wouldn’t have to write online reviews of various places due to the dates. That’s pretty much where any positive opinion regarding online dating ends.

Perhaps many years ago (10–15+), online dating was better. For those I know who have met their significant other long ago with online dating, it worked at one point - though it wasn’t perfect either. But I personally know of no one who has met their significant other on there the last 5+ years or so. Much like other things, online dating used to be a decent option and it just turned sour with all the issues regarding them. It’s a shame too, because it could be a good thing, but sadly it’s not.

So my opinion of online dating is pretty poor overall. I know one thing though - I’ll never use them again.

On the outside they almost all look legit, but the methods they use to scam money out of the paying parties of the site is nothing less than one of the biggest scandals on our planet today. Billions of dollars are fraudulently taken from especially men who think that they communicate with a lady while it is an agent sitting in the office writing on behalf of the lady who in many cases do not even know that they use her profile to communicate. When you go on many of the videos, which are pre recorded and you ask the lady to wave at you, she will say that she is not allowed. So what I try to tell you is that, although many sites are registered and have the most beautiful scam policies, do things that should have had them in prison but they have ways of getting away. I happened to me that I communicated with a woman for 8 months and I spent more than $6 000. When I was ready to go and meet her, she said to me that she did meet someone else.

I seriously now consider to set up an international forum and get international legal firms and private detectives involved to take actions against this, what I call “white collar fraud”. Thousands of men who work hard for their money and want nothing but a soul mate and wife are scammed out of millions while many agency owners sit on some Greek island in multi million dollar homes and driving Ferrari's.

I wish there was one site I can give you that I know does all honestly, but there is not one I can recommend.

Greetings …

I always tell people that the single most important metric for a dating site is how many users they have. In most cities/regions, Match will win out here.

I was on Eharmony for a few months, and I felt like I was tricked into believing there would actually be a meaningful number of users on the platform (I live in a county of 100k people with low population densities in all other directions—so maybe I should have given this more thought before signing up). I had about 40 different people to swipe on the entire time I was on the app, and that was with my settings out to 75 miles in all direction

Now that I’m on Tinder, there is basically no end to the swiping. There are magnitudes more potential matches.

I did meet a single person on Zoosk when I used it briefly in 2020. That relationship never took off. Bottom line: to find people to date, go where there are more people to wade through.

So let’s look at the best outdoor places to meet your date.

Shopping Malls

Food is essential for everyone and for that you need the necessary ingredients and items. So you can expect people over 50 visiting shopping malls at any point of time during the day. I can give a lot of examples of people meeting over in shopping malls and grocery stores and becoming partners for a lifetime. Because when you see persons who share the same taste as yours in picking up items that suit your taste, you take an instant liking to them. The shopping malls are easy to meet just senior singles.

Concerts and Wine Festivals

Another great place to meet up with seniors over 50 is when you attend concerts and wine festivals. Start up a conversation and talk about their interests and hobbies and see if you can start some kind of relationship if he/she fits into your profile.

Dog Parks

Another great way to meet just senior singles is while taking your pet dog out for a stroll in the park. The more you visit the park you can try to spot regulars and start striking some conversation with them. Try to go slow with your questions and gently try to build a relationship. Make sure to know their timing and go there during that time and try to be regular on all days.

Sporting Events

Sporting events are also a great place to find the partner of your dreams. You can expect a lot of people coming over to the stadium and if you think you like a person, make sure to interact with them during a coffee break or something. If you both support the same team, then it is a good starting point to start up with a conversation.

Coffee Shops

People over 50 would often get bored in their homes and love to spend time out. And you can expect most of them visiting a coffee shop to meet their friends. Just strike a conversation gently about the weather or about his dog or anything you deemed fit. Once you’ve started the conversation, it is up to you to show your sense of your humor and other best qualities to get the other person get attracted towards you.

3. Create a Business Plan:

• Outline your goals, monetization strategies, and marketing approach.

• Monetization options include subscription models, premium features, or ads. For instance, Tinder offers a freemium model with add-ons like Super Likes and Boosts.

4. Develop a Unique Matchmaking System:

• Use technology to differentiate your platform.

• Incorporate AI, behavioral data, or personality tests for tailored matches. Platforms like eHarmony use proprietary algorithms to match users based on compatibility scores.

5. Build the Platform:

• Hire developers or use no-code tools to create your app or website.

• Ensure the platform is user-friendly, secure, and scalable. Key features include detailed profiles, search filters, chat functionality, and privacy settings.

6. Focus on User Experience:

• Prioritize mobile optimization, as a large portion of users will access the service via their phones.

7. Establish Trust and Safety:

• Explore premium tiers or add-ons to diversify revenue streams.

4. Coffee Meets Bagel:

• Offers a “curated” dating experience by sending users a limited number of matches daily, encouraging quality over quantity.

5. OkCupid:

• Stands out for its customizable questions and detailed profiles, which help create more precise matches.

Challenges to Be Aware Of

1. Competition:

• The market is saturated, so a unique selling proposition is essential.

2. Trust Issues:

3. User Retention:

• Keeping users engaged can be challenging, especially in a market where people often switch between platforms.

Final Thought

Starting an online dating business with matchmaking features requires more than just launching a platform—it’s about creating a service that genuinely helps people connect. By focusing on a unique niche, offering innovative features, and prioritizing user safety, you can carve out a space in this competitive industry. Remember, the goal isn’t just to build a business but to build a community where people feel valued and understood.

The people I met here are really serious about relationship, although some of them are looking for a one-night standard, if you could be more patient, I believe you’ll find the right one on XFUN.😎😎😎

They all SUCK!

EHARMONY HAS HIGHEST RATING!

HOWEVER, LATELY, THEY KEEP TAKING MEN OFF, SAYING THEY CAN NOT PROVE WHO THEY ARE. I HAVE ONLY BEEN ON IT SINCE AUGUST AND HAVE ALREADY COME ACROSS THE LONELY HEARTS CLUB TIPE!

THE KIND THAT IS GRIFTERS BUT I HAVE ALSO MET A COUPLE THAT SEEM NORMAL JUST TOOO YOUNG SOME WOMEN LIKE THIS I DO NOT

Honestly, they are both kinda terrible. Online dating used to be better. I know. I had a couple of long term relationships. Now? From both women and men, I’ve only heard of people who are either scamming, getting scammed or don’t want to date: they want to get laid. If that is what you want, then go for it. Both are going to be generally a 1 to 100 ratio of women to men, with the men being disgusting most of the time, and the women being bots or scammers. The best bet is to date in the real world.

I found that love tends to break all the rules. Logic doesn't really have to apply. But there are a few tips that might be helpful:

1. Know what's important to you and find someone with that same belief. What are your deal-breakers? Do you believe in staying fit? Love traveling? Then find someone with similar interests and beliefs. Passionately advocating for staying fit and dating someone who is lazy, isn't the best course of action.

2. Find your best friend. This doesn't mean you need to start dating your best friend but when you're with someone you really love, there should also be a friends

A support system, someone you can trust and go to with anything. Your silence together is comfortable, your conversations are always enjoyable. Someone you can have fun with, no matter how long you spend together.

3. Meet people who have similar hobbies. A good place to meet someone is when you feel comfortable. Maybe it's in a volunteer group you're in, a sports team, an art event, a concert. When you two share a passion for something similar a connection is easier to establish.

4. Be yourself. Don't fake an interest in something you don't actually enjoy, don't act differently or lie to attract someone. Find someone who will love you for who you are without dumping any surprises on them later.

5. Keep looking!! Love comes when you least expect it.

Dating sites are like shoes. You have to try on a few different pairs to figure out what type of style you like. If you’re an in-depth person, sites like Match & E-harmony might be a good fit for you because of the extensive questionnaire. If you prefer a few photos and some basic questions, look into Coffee Meets Bagel & The League and Hinge. The great thing about these 3 sites is that they only give few limited amounts of matches so you are not overwhelmed. Hinge also shows you mutual Facebook friends. If you’re into mostly photos and maybe one liners, then stick with Tinder & Bumble.

I became friends with a coworker and somewhere along the way I felt like she(19f) had a crush on me (23f). Initially, I thought, NO you’re a baby. When I think of myself at that age I think of myself as a baby and I was so different at that age compared to now. (She’s a lot different than me and she has more experience in areas than me lol.)

So weve stayed as friends and go out to eat on our breaks. We recently hung out on a weekend for the first time and I had so much fun. It doesn’t help that I’ve had two dreams about

So weve stayed as friends and go out to eat on our breaks. We recently hung out on a weekend for the first time and I had so much fun. It doesn’t help that I’ve had two dreams about her and one was of her kissing me. Now I’m thinking I wish she was older. I think she likes me and I’m starting to like her too. I got jealous today when I saw a girl (who I think has a crush on her) talking to her…

I know it’s not illegal to date but it feels like it. I also don’t want to be judged as a bad person for dating her because I’m not. What do you guys think?

I prefer Match. You could view the profiles of others before you decided to post a picture and Match has much more members than Zoosk

Met my wife on Hinge. I think they're a great way of meeting people if you've got a pretty busy schedule.

If you get the women in your life to show you the profiles and messages that they see, you'll realize pretty quick that most dudes are completely fucking hopeless. At best, boring as blank printer paper. At worst, hostile and weird. It takes very little effort to stand out.
