The main idea is to increase focus. Focusing on one task saves you time for other tasks because you do them faster.
There are two types of focus techniques:
- intuitive
- counter-intuitive
Intuitive techniques
1. Get more sleep: you spend 30% of your life in bed, so make sure to spend it the best you can
2. Eliminate distractions: reading emails many times during a day, Facebook, people around, objects on your desk, use Airplane mode on your mobile
3. Practice meditation: I forgot that doing meditation 10 minutes a day and emptying your mind trains your focus muscle
4. Work on just a few things

5. Always have a todo list on what to do next: break down big goals into smaller chunks
6. Invest in great utilities: they won't only help you organize your life better but also teach you how to be more focused and productive
Counter-intuitive techniques
7. Take breaks: if you do physical work: work for 50 minutes, take a 10 min break; if you do mental work: work for 55 minutes then break for 5 minutes doing something else
8. Talk about things you do with others: it will take the stress out of you
9. Read books: read books for increasing period of time (15 min, 30 min, 60 min)
10. Practice focus muscle: if you spend time practicing your focus, you will gain from it in long-term doing more in less time
11. Find your best work time during a day: there is always best moment for you to work: spend some time finding if it's morning, afternoon or evening and work just then on most important tasks
12. Auto motivate yourself with what motivates you: try to focus on a task and if you succeed, give yourself sweets, stop for 30 minutes and read a book or an article etc.
13. If a great idea comes to your head, schedule it for later: that's sad but focused people know how to retain things for later
14. Listen to music: Andzelika (who co-creates the app with me) suggested me that point and indeed I love to put on my most favourite music so I keep my mind focused
15. Learn to play an instrument: it develops your thinking on one thing skill.
Bonus: Go to warm countries often. This won't improve your focus but it's awesome :).
1. Stop multitasking.
2. Batch tasks. When did you prepare cookie dough for only 1 cookie? Batch emails, cooking, visuals for your blog etc.
3. Don't batch cleaning. Clean as you go.
4. Make a meal plan, shopping list accordingly and go shopping once a week.
5. No emails or social networks first thing in the morning. Morning is ideal for hardest and most creative tasks.
6. Prioritize sleep. When you don't sleep enough you do things sloppy and need to go back and correct.
7. Turn off social network and email notifications on your cell phone.

10. Stop watching TV. That is the waste of time.
I hope you find this list useful. <3

Something which I find useful to save time while getting ready for work everyday is the Four Song Rule. The idea is that if you like listening to music in the morning, you can use songs to time stuff you do, instead of using a clock. Assuming the average duration of a song is around 5 minutes, you can get ready in 20 minutes.
Well, here is how I do it:
- Song 1 - Brush your teeth and floss. Parallely, switch the geyser on in case you need hot water.
- Song 2 - Your hot water is ready, take a shower and if you're a bit of a bathroom singer, just sing along.
- Song 3 - Get dressed, and maybe dance aroun

Some good music in the morning makes my day and this way I can save a lot of time. I am a lazy ass, and I used to take about an hour to get ready earlier. Now I use the time I save to sleep!
I once met a man who drove a modest Toyota Corolla, wore beat-up sneakers, and looked like he’d lived the same way for decades. But what really caught my attention was when he casually mentioned he was retired at 45 with more money than he could ever spend. I couldn’t help but ask, “How did you do it?”
He smiled and said, “The secret to saving money is knowing where to look for the waste—and car insurance is one of the easiest places to start.”

He smiled and said, “The secret to saving money is knowing where to look for the waste—and car insurance is one of the easiest places to start.”
He then walked me through a few strategies that I’d never thought of before. Here’s what I learned:
1. Make insurance companies fight for your business
Most people just stick with the same insurer year after year, but that’s what the companies are counting on. This guy used tools like Coverage.com to compare rates every time his policy came up for renewal. It only took him a few minutes, and he said he’d saved hundreds each year by letting insurers compete for his business.
Click here to try Coverage.com and see how much you could save today.
2. Take advantage of safe driver programs
He mentioned that some companies reward good drivers with significant discounts. By signing up for a program that tracked his driving habits for just a month, he qualified for a lower rate. “It’s like a test where you already know the answers,” he joked.
You can find a list of insurance companies offering safe driver discounts here and start saving on your next policy.
3. Bundle your policies
He bundled his auto insurance with his home insurance and saved big. “Most companies will give you a discount if you combine your policies with them. It’s easy money,” he explained. If you haven’t bundled yet, ask your insurer what discounts they offer—or look for new ones that do.
4. Drop coverage you don’t need
He also emphasized reassessing coverage every year. If your car isn’t worth much anymore, it might be time to drop collision or comprehensive coverage. “You shouldn’t be paying more to insure the car than it’s worth,” he said.
5. Look for hidden fees or overpriced add-ons
One of his final tips was to avoid extras like roadside assistance, which can often be purchased elsewhere for less. “It’s those little fees you don’t think about that add up,” he warned.
The Secret? Stop Overpaying
The real “secret” isn’t about cutting corners—it’s about being proactive. Car insurance companies are counting on you to stay complacent, but with tools like Coverage.com and a little effort, you can make sure you’re only paying for what you need—and saving hundreds in the process.
If you’re ready to start saving, take a moment to:
- Compare rates now on Coverage.com
- Check if you qualify for safe driver discounts
- Reevaluate your coverage today
Saving money on auto insurance doesn’t have to be complicated—you just have to know where to look. If you'd like to support my work, feel free to use the links in this post—they help me continue creating valuable content.

This ONE Habit saves me 10+ Hours each Week:
For years I have been struggling with the nagging feeling of not “having time” to get the small, but sometimes important stuff done. I am talking about things like

This ONE Habit saves me 10+ Hours each Week:
For years I have been struggling with the nagging feeling of not “having time” to get the small, but sometimes important stuff done. I am talking about things like
- cleaning my car regularly
- paying that stupid bill
- calling my doctor for an appointment
- replying to WhatsApp or Facebook messages from old friends I haven’t seen in a while
- booking that flight in time
I always saw these things as not important enough to make time for it during the day, until I had put them off for so long that they had become an urgent thing. Moreover, I often simply forgot to do them because I didn’t have a well-working to-do list and system for those non-work related things, let alone having routines that allowed me to get those things done regularly as part of my week or day. Because of this, I always felt I was “running behind time” and never “on top of things”. Often I was embarrassed by having such seemingly mundane parts of my life “out of control”, like constantly getting payment reminders or having a dirty & cluttered car when I picked up friends.
Last year I finally developed a system for myself that lets me squeeze in all these little things into my day and finally be in control of the “mundane” things in life. Implementing this system has left me feeling calmer and more in control. My mind is less cluttered by constantly thinking “shit I need to do this, but I don’t have time” and thus I am now able to focus on the big things in my life in work. The technique is definetely not groundbreakingly new, but rather a combination of already existing productivity tips & tools out there. It’s called BATCHING!
What you need to implement a batching system:
Batching means taking a specific time slot to do a “batch” of similar little jobs. This could mean taking an hour after work every Monday to do your personal finance stuff (pay bills online, check credit card statements for weird charges, track your budget, whatever) or it could mean taking an hour before work to stop by the post office and the pharmacy. Another example is to reply to all your WhatsApp messages every morning on your way to work. As you can see,the basic idea is to batch similar tasks and errands together and then do them in one go, which allows you to get more done faster. Furthermore, by having dedicated times for these batches every week, you ensure that you are always on top of things and over time it becomes part of your routine like making excuses was before.
Here is the step-by-step process for creating your very own batching system:
1. Look at your weekly schedule and ask yourself the following:
- Are there any open time slots that can be used to power-through a few quick tasks? That could be your lunch breaks, the 30min you spend in the tube every morning, Tuesdays after working out, Saturday mornings, etc.
- What where the times when you actually got stuff done in the past? Can you see patterns about when, where and why you are willing or like to do certain things? The key is to make it easy for you and play on the sweet-spots of situations where you actually don’t mind doing those things. For example, I hate replying to WhatsApp messages unless its for coordinating with someone when and where to meet, I just really prefer face-to-face contact. However, I have found that I actually enjoy replying to messages when I am at work just in-between two tasks. So now, I deliberately take 5min breaks between tasks and reply to my messages.
Another example is that I actually don’t mind cleaning up if I do it right away when I come home from work, just for 10–15min, get all my things together for the next day, load the dishwasher, whatever. However, if I sit down or do something else right after coming home, I can’t get around to doing it later.
2. Note down all the stupid little jobs that you have been putting off for a while.
Also add tasks that you don’t necessarily need to get done this week, but that are recurring like paying bills, cleaning, laundry. Basically, note down everything that is part of keeping your life going but is neither your actual work nor something you would consider enjoyable.
3. Categorise the tasks
Think about which categorisation makes the most sense for you personally. A few types of categorisation would be: by type, by area of your life, …
For me, I categorised them in “digital tasks” including everything I can do with my laptop or phone when I have internet (paying bills online, booking hotels, replying to messages, etc.) and actually “running errands” which require me to go somewhere like to the doctor, to the post office or buy something.
4. Use a Tool
Once categorised, put them in a to-do list tool. I love to use Wunderlist. In Wunderlist, I have different lists which would be my categories. For example I have a list for digital errands and one for actual errands.
5. Identify weekly time slots for “batching”
Here are a few examples of my week:
“Admin Mondays”: I take an hour after work every Monday where I stay in the office and get a bunch of “digital errands” done. To do that, I open my to-do-list with digital errands, pick the ones where the deadline is close and get them done in one go.
“Errands-Lunch”: I usually keep it flexible which day I use for it, but I take one of my lunch breaks each week to get a few things done in town. That could mean grabbing something from the drugstore, stopping by the post office or buying a birthday present. It’s also a great way to spend an active lunch hour and get outside
“Organizational Saturday Mornings”: I realised I love staying in bed on Saturday mornings a little longer and plan my weekly meal plan by flipping through my favourite recipe books and then making a meal plan and a dedicated grocery list. Those days, I usually have a bowl of porridge in bed and coffee which I absolutely love to do ❤️ After I get up, I try to do all the stuff around the house in one batch. For me that means: laundry, cleaning out the fridge, grocery shopping, ironing, sweeping the floor, taking out the garbage. I find that when I have an “admin” batch first thing Saturday mornings, I tend to enjoy my weekends so much more, because I am free to enjoy the rest of it without the nagging feeling of “damn, I need to do my laundry” and then being stressed out and having a cluttered mind all weekend. Furthermore, I love to have a clean house on the weekend, makes staying at home so much more enjoyable.
6. Add the time slots into your calendar
Turn on the “repeat” function in your calendar so you don’t need to think about it every week and over time you will do each batch as part of your normal routine
7. Experiment, learn and iterate!
It will take some time to integrate this new system into your life and find what works for you. Don’t worry about having the “perfect system” right away, just get started and then reflect on what worked and what didn’t (why not have a reflection batch?!). Iterating the system might include finding a suitable to-do list tool and system, finding reasonable time slots every week, finding the sweet-spots for when you actually enjoy which kinds of errands and assigning them there.
My top three time-saving hacks are-
- The two minutes rule- I quickly try to finish things which take less than 2 minutes. For instance, putting the things back to place from where I took it, etc.
- No phone- From the last few months I don't have a phone. As according to me, being a school student, I don't need it, it's a wastage of time. I quit my phone this new year, and I am happy I did. Now, it saves a lot of time, as I don't have unnecessary calls, messages or anything else which can kill my time. - Scheduling my day in morning- At the beginning of the day only, I decide what are some tasks I've to do on the given day. By doing this, I don't waste my time thinking what to do next. I simply complete one task and switch to the other one. Suppose, after completing one subject I don't have to think which subject to do next, as I've simply planned my whole day schedule.

So, you think you’ve drafted a tweet, an email, a short story, or even a novel. These are different forms of communication, but the process of bringing them to fruition has a necessary, sometimes overlooked step: editing! Unless you’re a professional writer, it’s unlikely that you have an editor who can review your writing regularly. Here are some tips to help you review your own work.
- Give your writing some space. Have you ever felt a mix of pure relief and joy when you’ve finished a draft of something? Don’t downplay that feeling and the ability to walk away from your work before you start editing it. You may need minutes, hours, or days, but once you sit back down with what you originally had on the page, you’ll have the thrill of looking at it with fresh eyes. You’ll notice errors you may not have seen the first time. You’ll come to new realizations about its overall tone and structure. If it’s a text or email, maybe you only need a few minutes away from it. If it’s a story or essay, perhaps you’ll need longer. Regardless of what type of work it is, it will help your writing tremendously.
- Don’t use overachieving synonyms. Looking at your work for the second, third, or fourth time around may inspire you to spice up your language with longer, more uncommon words. There’s nothing wrong with having a thesaurus nearby, but try to limit the repetition of long, pretentious-feeling words so your work flows well and doesn’t feel too bogged down. At the end of the day, you want it to feel true to you and the message you’re conveying.
- Remember who the reader is. Don’t forget your own voice as the writer—but don’t forget who your reader is. Many writers get too close to their work; editing is a chance to try to get out of your own head. Who is your ideal reader? What do you want them to take away from the writing? It’s a unique time to step in their shoes, to make sure your communication is as effective as you’d like it to be.
- Kill your darlings. Don’t be scared to remove chunks of your work, even if it feels precious to you. If it’s a passage that’s really tough to part with, try saving it somewhere else, so you can return to it later in your piece or for another work.
- Use Grammarly. Last but not least, Grammarly has countless resources for editing your work. Our writing assistant helps you find areas of your writing that are unclear or too wordy, as well as help you find mistakes you might not have caught.
Editing may feel tedious, but it’s just as important as writing itself. For an extra pair of editing eyes on everything you write, download the free Grammarly for Windows and Mac today.

- Evernote: Evernote has the most bugs I have ever seen in widely used products. Sometimes I think it drops my data. But it is still the best (I am aware of). I use it to do note taking and TODO list. For TODO, I follow Evernote and GTD smoothly integrated into TSW . It is EXTREMELY good for me.

- StayFocusd: this is a Chrome extension. It blocks user-defined websites in user-defined period. I used to randomly click bookmarks and get lost. With it, now I don't. I also use it to block Gmail in the morning. So I don't check email in the morning - save a lot of time.
- Eyefoo: It is a Chinese software that locks your PC screen at fixed interval. Ordinary timer does not work for me as I would ignore them. I set up it to be 3 mins lock at 25 mins. Effectively, this becomes a Pomodoros tool.
- aTimeLogger: it is an iPhone app. I use it too log at what time I do what type of things and how long it takes. I can export the log to CSV file to do further visualization by myself.
Other things:
- Drinking beer at dinner makes me sleepy and not willing to work at night. Don't do it.
- Eating too much makes me sleepy and not willing to work. Don't do it.
- Sleep well..
Another very important thing - "forget time". I hide the time on my task bar so I don't know the current time. I found it very helpful. Because I may be panic if I look at the time and find I am not productive. Or I may be too relaxed if I have done a lot. Also, if I know the time, I will start thinking about the things I will do in half an hour. Very distracting..
- Whenever we call customer care, first thing they ask us is to select a language from English, Hindi or Marathi(or any other regional language). Always choose the regional language. Since people speaking your regional language are less than people speaking Hindi and English, your call may get connected to the customer service executive faster, thus saving some time.

This app notifies us to go the bank 15 minutes prior to the estimated time when our token number will arrive.

Eventually I got lot of extra time and even now during the lock down i try and make the best use of the time each day. I do my meditation early morning called Falun Dafa which has helped me in over coming all such shortcomings. I find it imp to devote some time each day in meditating and cleansing my mind so that I'm quite fresh n positive through out the day. N this has made my day more productive and kept me going.. I really don't feel tired or short of sleep..
Rest of the day I try and cook different things and spend time coloring. Trying to avoid watching much tv and news so that I'm not occupied with all negative news but it is imp to be aware of what's happening around as well, trying to balance it out.
You can learn this meditation practice too, as it is free of cost and easily available at falundafa. Org.
During this lock down, there are free online workshops conducted as well If you wish to join
Hope this helps :)
Some of you might face problems completing your tasks on time no matter how hard you try. Today, I’m here with a few handy tips to give you a head-start with the same.
1.Eliminate negative energy - In order to increase your efficiency, you need to cut down on the negative energy around you. Nothing wastes your time more than negative vibes. Keep those people around you who make an effort to uplift you and who are happy to see you grow.

2. Responsibility - Take responsibility for your actions. Once you start owning up to things and working on it, you save half your time and put it into increasing your efficiency. Accepting your mistake and not wasting time justifying your actions is one of the biggest signs of maturity.
3. No - Learn to say no. Suppose your friends have made plans for the weekend and you’re supposed to complete all your pending week work during that particular weekend. In my opinion, you should say no. Make your work your top priority.
4. To-do list – Make a “to-do” list. Trust me it helps you save a lot of time throughout the day and it increases productivity by multiple folds.
5. Procrastinate- Stop procrastinating. Once you stop distracting yourself with other things, you realize you have got ample amount of time. Instead of procrastination, invest your time into something productive, for example, read a book or go for a walk or anything that you like to do give yourself a break.

Have your work structured, especially for tasks that complete themselves after you've started them.
For example:
- Load up laundry before you go shower
- Move laundry to the dryer after shower, wash next batch
- Remove laundry after breakfast from the dryer and load the next batch
You'll already have a nice head start for this task on this day.
You can basically save most time by doing things in the right order.
Another one is - never walk empty. There's always something that needs to be somewhere (like in the car or taken out of the car, trash,...), therefore always "enrich" your tiny commuting

I'm saving about half an hour day this way without being more active.
Half an hour a day equals four and a half 40 hour work weeks - just like that, for free. Work more, or go on vacation...
Never ever underestimate the power of saving mere minutes each day.
The most powerful time saving habit is: Live as close as possible to your work! Many people buy a bigger house and accept an hour or two daily commute time.
Just think how that adds up!
Last but not least, you can do much, but you can never buy yourself more time. It will run out, all by itself, for everyone at the same speed.
Better spend a day or a week to carve out from your thoughts what you really want to do in and with your life and then do just that, don't squeeze in more or question your decision constantly (review the direction yes, daily pondering no).
This limits the constant decision making process like a filter. You'll drain much slower this way and can stay on top things with less energy.
Also focus in everything you do kills all the small distractors.
Checking Facebook really isn't ten seconds, it's always a minute+, each time. All these things add up - keep track one day for fun and prepare to be surprised.
One task at a time.
And allow me to finish with Benjamin Franklin:
Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.

If you hide your last seen status on WhatsApp, it will dramatically reduce the amount of time you spend on it. Two things will happen:-
1) Other people will not ping you just because you were online 2-3 minutes back.
2) You won't unnecessarily check the last seen status of your friends every now and then so that you can ping and chat with them.
P.S - I have tried and tested it myself. It works :)

2. An account at http://showrss.info
Lets get started.
Step 1
Create your account at http://showrss.info. No, you don't have to fill out a long form here. Hell, you don't even need a mail id to register. It won't take you more than 2 minutes.
Step 2
Now that you have registered, it's time for you to select the TV shows you require to download. ShowRSS has the most comprehensive list of TV shows on the planet. Add all the shows you are currently following to the list. Just select the show from the drop down list and and click "Add to my list"
Step 3
After you have added all the shows to the list, click on the "Feeds" tab on top.
Keep all the settings as shown here and then click on the "Generate" button.
Step 4
Clicking on the Generate button will take you to a screen like this. The custom RSS feed mentioned here is what we will use to download our favourite shows!
Copy the link to your clipboard and open BitTorrent/uTorrent.
PS: If you ever feel like adding another show or deleting a show on your current list, you can very well add or delete it by clicking on the "your shows" tab. Your feed URL will always remain the same once it is generated.
Step 5
I am using BitTorrent. On the left, right click on "Feeds" and select "Add RSS Feed". You will get a popup as shown here. If you have already copied the RSS link form showRSS it will automatically appear there. Make sure the "Do not automatically download all items" is checked. Add a custom alias to quickly identify your RSS feed. I have used the name "Tv Show" Click OK.
Step 6
Now you have made bittorrent aware of what all shows you need to download.
But which episode of which show? Which season(s) do you want to download? We haven't mentioned that. We will specify such things in the subsequent steps.
Right click on the custom alias you created in the previous step and click on RSS downloader. I have already specified my shows here. To add a new show, click on Add.
Step 7
I have added a new show and labelled it as Criminal Minds.
On the right side of the screen, we have to mention the rules about the downloads.
- Filter : <name of your show followed by a *> Eg: Criminal Minds*. The * is used as a wildcard to match the name of the torrent. DO NOT forget to add the * at the end.
- Not: <left blank>
- Save In: <Any directory you specify>. You can download each show to a particular directory. Or you can leave it blank to download it into your default downloads directory.
- Feed : <Your custom RSS alias created in step 5> In this case it is , "Tv Show"
- Quality: All ( If you want only 720p rips, you can dropdown the list and select 720p)
- Episode Number : <the season you want to download and the episodes>. Now this is the most important part. Here you can mention the season of the show and the episodes you want to download. Here, I have mentioned that I want to download from Season 09,Episode 07 to episode 30.30 is just a random number. I haven't seen any series whose episode spans beyond 30 in a single season.
- PS: Bittorrent doesn't allow download of multiple seasons in one filter. For that you might want to add another rule, say Criminal Minds S08 and then set the rule as 8x01-30.
- The next two options are left unchecked.
- Give download highest priority : <check it if you want to make sure that the download automatically gets added to top of the queue.>
- Smart ep.filter : <Checked> This makes sure that an episode is not downloaded more than once, even if a better rip is out.
Step 8
You can click the "?" button on the left to know which episodes are matching your current set of rules.
Click Close after you have set the rules for all your shows!
Step 9
That's it. Sit back and relax while your favorite shows are being downloaded as soon as they are released :)
Comment below if you face any problems during implementation of this process. Always happy to help :)

I am not the most punctual person, but its usually not because of getting ready, and I can put myself together in a hurry if I need to. If posible, find a jeans brand and/or designer that fits you well and invest in a few key basics so that you have a few outfits that always work, and look stylish. I put together a "capsule" for every season. This is a small collection consisting of a few stylish, basic items of clothing, that can be intermixed with trendier pieces, and gives you an effortless, stylish, wardrobe each season. Having a great haircut and night time routine also help, as well as a quick, natural makeup look. For example, I put my hair in a low bun at night, so my hair stays smooth, and in the morning, it gives my hair loose waves. My "go-to" morning makeup routine is my skincare routine, followed by beauty balm, (tinted moisturizer with SPF) some brightening concealer, mascara, a touch of bronzer, and some lipgloss. If I have more time. I'll have more fun with my makeup and outfits, but for everyday, these are what help me. Here's an example of a "capsule wardrobe." It isnt mine, but just to give you an idea:
I have used multiple time saving techniques over the last several years, and I believe some inspired people can adopt many of them that I will mention in this post.
First, the most important thing to realize is time is your most valuable asset, so you must use it judiciously. What this means is that you should use your time to do what you are best at. For example, if you are an engineer, then you should try to maximize the impact you can make towards betterment of humanity by either maximizing the happy and productive time you can spend in engineering, and/or maximizing the unit impact you can

First, the most important thing to realize is time is your most valuable asset, so you must use it judiciously. What this means is that you should use your time to do what you are best at. For example, if you are an engineer, then you should try to maximize the impact you can make towards betterment of humanity by either maximizing the happy and productive time you can spend in engineering, and/or maximizing the unit impact you can generate in the limited time you can spend in it.
Here are some of the best time saving tips:
- Eliminate junk and time killing work:
- Eliminate unnecessary traveling: A lot of people for a very large part of their lives do things that can actually be eliminated. Take this for an example - You can choose to live at locations A and B in a city. Your work is really close to A, and all the fun places are close to B. The housing prices are similar. A lot of people choose to live far away from work, and then they travel to work everyday. The traveling time could be as high as 1–2 hours in some cases. Most of the time spent in travel is often dead time ~ for example traveling in crowded trains, driving cars and being stuck in traffic is only a waste of time. On a daily basis, if you work 40 hours, and travel for 10 hours, you can potentially work 50 hours, and learn far more in your life than to waste that time in traveling.
- Eliminate junk things at work: There are hundreds of non-value adding things people do at work. Carefully look at what the job demands. If your immediate efforts have no impact on the core job, stop those efforts. This is Elon Musk’s rule. Focus on signal vs noise.
- Set golden circle: go after doing anything in an organization according to the golden circle. Simon Sinek mentions this in his book called ‘Start with why’, I somewhat distorted it a little, and started with customer. That is Amazon’s formula.
- Customers: if you do something for the customers, you would usually be doing the best things in their interest, and they turn out to be the most optimum things.
- Impact: Go after what will give your customers the highest impact. If you choose projects with more impact, you are only using your time better.
- Why: Think about why you should do something. If you ask this question a lot of times in a day, then you can eliminate junk work easily, and can create smarter ideas.
- Who: Set at the onset of the projects who would do what. People often duplicate efforts because of not discussing this at the onset, and then suffer later.
- When: Set good deadlines: Usually aggressive deadlines are ok, because things get done that way, but try to set healthy deadlines that don’t put unnecessary pressure on everyone. If mistakes happen because of unnecessary pressure, your team will suffer more.
- What: Document very clearly what has to be done. Discuss with two to three people so that no mistakes remain in the documentation. In industries, often because of poor documentation, a lot of time is lost.
- Create impact, volume, priority matrix: If you have to choose out of multiple projects or only order them better, then go after following three:
- Impact: Try to maximize impact.
- Volume: Do those projects first which have large volume.
- Priority: Go after those projects first which seem to be closer to bottleneck.
- I even multiply these - impact x volume x priority.
- Example - training 30 people who just joined the company for two hours is a far bigger impact than say ~ working on some random project with low impact that could be done even on a weekend.
- Plan very well:
- Order and organize things well: Write down what the most important things are. Then rank them further in an order. Then create sub projects and Gantt charts. Then re-organize so that you have the most optimum plan, and then go in a sequence and simply execute. In this case, organize a personal and work related checklist together. There is no point in keeping two different checklists, otherwise at the end of the day something will suffer.
- Optimize the order in the beginning: Here, jumping to and fro from one task to another is also not optimum. Create a sequence in the beginning itself, which sounds like the most optimum sequence. Minor adjustments will always have to be done, but by using this method you would maximize impact per unit time.
- Automate:
- Look for pre-existing automatic setups: I could have written this whole post by just saying - ‘Automate’. If any task in the world can be automated, we can derive infinite gains out of a computer. The biggest impact I could ever create in my life especially in my job was due to automation. My whole focus was simply this: ‘How can this task be done by a computer program’. Many times I would succeed quickly, and once I would succeed, I would have created extra time in my hands to think, and come up with next automation project. And I just kept going this way.
- Learn programming: Check out several posts I have written on Python, Machine learning, deep learning and so on. Majority of them inspire the readers to automate as much as possible. 60–70 percent of the things I do are all automated. I only choose and decide which program to run given a problem statement. A majority of my time actually goes in finding a new problem which has a large scale, so that it can be automated.
- You can even automate screen automatic clicking. Look up a python module called PyAutoGUI.
- Execute flawlessly:
- Eliminate mistakes: As far as possible, eliminate the chances of making mistakes in the work. By mistakes, I wan to highlight those that that can be controlled. Things such as typos, errors made because of not checking things, forgetfulness, and several other things are avoidable and must be avoided.
- Fail only when you innovate: Every time you innovate something, there is a fundamental right to fail, but try not to fail too often.
- Backup plan: always keep a backup plan so that you kick in the backup as soon as plan A fails.
- Practice makes a man perfect: This is crucial when you want to form good habits and eliminate bad ones. This goes down to where you put your keys at the end of the workday, and up to as high as how flawlessly you can work on massive and large scale projects under immense pressure.
- Teach and train:
- Make learning a constant ongoing, and lifelong process: The more knowledge you have, the larger your impact will be. There is just no way around this.
- Train many others: If you choose to train others, train more and more people in the same time. When you train more people, you can then delegate more activities.
- Create training videos: If you spend enough time creating videos to train people, it can then work out very easy for you in future to train more and more people with the same efforts.
- Create training documentation: Creating well organized documentation helps train many people simultaneously.
- Memorization and documentation: This is to make an impact on repetitive tasks.
- Memorize: If you memorize the things that you have to use over and over, then it saves an enormous amount of time to not look them over in documentation.
- Document: For more complex things that need not (cannot) be memorized, create very handy documentation, so that you can refer to it whenever you need to, and can also refer others to look it up if they come to you with questions.
- Create very good filing system: The more organized all the files are, the easier it is to find them from a pile. These days, tools like sharepoint work very well for such organization.
- Create platforms like Wikipedia: Creating platforms like Wikipedia is best where others can update documentation.
- Focus:
- Distraction free work: When you work, keep the distractions away. By checking Facebook, whatsapp, and other texting apps, you would waste a lot of time.
- Eliminate junk apps: One does not need hundreds of apps on their cell phones to waste more time. We are all already surrounded by so many things that are only distracting at best.
- Set aside time for updates and communication: email is an important part of communication throughout the day, but one can set aside some time to periodically send emails. Some jobs require a constant thoroughfare of information, but usually efficient people set aside time for emails. They do periodically check emails, but they don’t live their lives on outlook.
- Organize emails: It is really important to organize the whole outlook so that emails can be referred to later, and good documentation can be created out of it. You can automatically delete junk mails, automatically send informational mails in dedicated folders, so that the only mails for you to actually read are the ones that are important ones.
- Parallel process: Unfortunately, there is no such thing as parallel processing. It is all about series processing, but one can create a better series. My optimum works out when I set things in series in this order:
- Set machines to work: Set as many computers and machines to work as possible first. Computers are way faster than us, therefore if you set them to work first, you would maximize impact.
- Then delegate tasks: Delegate tasks which can be done be someone somewhat subordinate to you, and that need not need your expertise.
- Then set aside thinking: When all this is done, begin with a white board, and write down whatever has to be done and then optimize and organize. Nowadays I have started using a cell phone checklist app for this.
- Start and finish: This is probably simple to say, but harder to achieve, but if you try to start on time, then the probability that you can finish on time is automatically higher.
- Start on time: To achieve this, go by a plan, and simply start with the first step on any project. It gives immense motivation when you start something. It can then be easier to just keep going. Most especially this works wonders when people want to exercise on a daily basis. Simply start!
- Finish on time: People often struggle with finishing something, because they run into barriers, but it is best to overcome barriers one after the other and finish a project to completion. Unfinished projects only drag on, and only incur more time.
- Meetings are distractions: Corporate america is spending billions of dollars on meetings.
- Stay away from them as much as possible: if three people can do a task, there is no point in holding a 30 people meeting and wasting so many people’s time. Don’t attend meetings where you do not have a direct tangible impact.
- Ask these questions at all times for all meetings:
- Why can’t it be eliminated?
- Why can’t it be done online?
- Why can’t it be done over an email?
- Living a healthy life: This is not exactly tangible in the grand scheme of events, but at the end of the day, successful people share these traits, and they make large impact with their time, so it must be true that these things are time saving tips.
- Discipline: If you are always on time, then that is what people will expect out of you, and that is how they will treat you. They will try to finish your projects on time as they will see discipline in you.
- Good healthy food: Healthy diet = fitness = no visits to hospitals, and no downtime being sick.
- Never skip workout: Workouts don’t drain you out of energy. Instead, if done optimally, they give you more energy.
- If you have all three - discipline, workout, and healthy diet, then a sweet combination will in fact force you to think about how to do everything effectively.
These small things have done wonders in my life, and I hope that I have inspired some readers to pick one or more of them.
Stay blessed and stay inspired!

I've started this thing I call PLUS ONE.
Every small task I have to do, such as writing an email or clearing up some cups, whatever, while I'm doing it I look out for, or think of one extra task I would otherwise have left undone, and do it quickly too. It doesn't save time immediately, but cumulatively I'm getting through a lot more. I like the way it's easy to remember and if I keep it up hopefully it'll turn into a habit.
Be it personal life, corporate life or social life, a lot of tricks and techniques exist to save an enormous amount of time. I will get straight to bullet points here.
- Don’t make mistakes with known things. Mistakes cost a lot of time to corporate companies, to workers, and managers. Leaders make very very very few mistakes. If a mistake happens once, put a lot of efforts in eliminating it for future. That would save you enormous amount of time in future.
- Eliminate whatever does not have to be done. A lot of people do plenty of things that can be simply dropped. A very simple fundamental: If you

- Eliminate whatever does not have to be done. A lot of people do plenty of things that can be simply dropped. A very simple fundamental: If your immediate efforts have no impact on top-line, bottom-line of your organization or of your own, stop those efforts.
- Automate whatever can be automated. Computers can do things 100–1000 times faster. Anything that can be automated, must be automated.
- Delegate whatever can be delegated. This is not very hard to understand, but if something can be done by someone with less education, then it should be delegated to people with less education. Everyone working in companies should try to do the tasks that are best for their capabilities.
- Organize as much as possible and create a good order in which things should be done. By doing things in a great order where importance, urgency, unit time per task, and volume of tasks has been optimized, one can achieve far more than average.
- Do things in batches. This helps in doing multiple things in one shot, and saves time taken per unit item. This is simple to understand, because the tasks that fill up common time, for example launching a software are divided by number of total tasks done. This also applies to shopping. For example - you would be ok buying non-perishable items for a 6 months consumption in one shot. Sure it takes up some money, but it saves time.
- Pool things together where traveling is reduced. For example - if you are going to buy groceries, you might as well go to library, mail-shop, and so on all in one ride, and optimize the traveling path. Here not only you are doing things in batches, but also you can come up with a better path which has lowest total distance.
- Always keep things organized and at fixed locations. Losing keys, wallet, cell phone, badge, bag, laptop charger, papers, files, calculator and so on are the most common reasons for waste of time at home. Create a dedicated place for all the items together, and always put them there when you are back to home.
- Reduce as much traveling as you possibly can. This generally saves fuel, and time. Lot of people live far away from work. By living closer to work place, you can save yourself a significant amount of time.
- Continually find ways to streamline operations, procedures. Often times, when a third person looks at a problem, they can find out what you are doing wrong. Just ask someone to look over a procedure, and you would be surprised how quickly you can find efficiency items.
- Reduce mouse clicks by automation, or by automatic mouse clickers. This is really simple to implement, and very valuable especially in engineering companies.
- Be very disciplined about something, so that those who depend on you do not have to bother you over and over. This saves an enormous time in corporate world. Not only people will like you for this, but also you will save your and other’s time. And saving other’s time is equivalent to saving time for company.
- Be precise, accurate, honest, transparent, and timely with communication. Communication is key to success wherever one works and work takes a major amount of time. Perfect communication saves a valuable amount of time, eliminates need for a large number of meetings, and dead time in waiting.
- If things fail, escalate as quickly as possible. By responding to failures quickly one can save time in future.
- Optimization, calibration of time taken for tasks. Calibrate how much time it takes to do something. One day I precisely measured how long it takes to start from my home, drive, find parking, check-in, and get past the check-in point of the airport in the city I live in no matter what terminal the flight is from. Then I only added a buffer of 30 minutes. Now whatever my flight time is, I only have to start exactly 2 Hrs 45 before the flight time. This way, I have calibrated just about all the tasks that I may ever have to repeat, and that saves a lot of time.
- If you go to any place, and if you have a GPS, always add that place to dictionary. This saves time in future, and also helps optimizing the routes through shortest paths to most frequently visited places.
Hope some of these tricks will be helpful to working professionals and students. Stay blessed and stay inspired!

As you enter the adulthood, you have to clear your grass to avoid itching or sweating around your tower. It was mission impossible for me in my early 20’s. It starts with finding a private time and place for private session.
Once I get there, next was to sit in awkward position putting mirror ahead. My brain wasn't sharp enough to visualise mirror effect of the reality and I had to “ f*ck and ouch!” in between. Cleaning the razor blocked with foam was intermediate but important.
As it's sensitive, couple of touches here and there would change the dimensions of the part for buffing. It was like changing thr engine of running car.
If you're at the same stage as I was, this read may help.
What are you risking by regular razor blades?
- You feel scared sh*t while you glide 0.12mm slit strolling around your s*x driver.
- Your position and location for this challenging task in closed chamber with non-ergonomic posture. This weakens your ground to perform.
- Considering your manhood, which fluctuates in size and stiffness with the mood as you perform the mission, its perilous to get automatic ride with rising and dropping angles around the forest.
- Project might be little easier at tunnel of love but certainly with skills.
- Highest chances of injury to your most pleasurable part, in case blades are not at perfect angle.
- While you plough the farm, the blades gets chocked with foam and full hairs, to halt further cutting. This results in putting unnecessary thrust and hurting your skin fir further shave.
- Though hairs around protects you from many diseases including skin infections. By shaving, we open the gates for bacterias around.
- Even if you're successful with all above complications, on third day in the office, its Irresistible to scratch with your hands in pocket for itching due to new growing grass.
- I wish I knew option A below earlier.
Same goes for the grass in your backyard.
Well instead try other ways to handle this situation.
A) Use trimmers :
- These are affordable. Costs starting from INR, 250 this is easy fix.
- Just ride this vibratimg toy around the zone. Maintain some margin of length to avoid direct touch.
- With trimmers, job can be done in 5 minutes for shafts. For Coffer, I assume leass than a minute.
- You don't have to be expert to use trimmers.
- By keeping some length, you don't open the pores of the skin. Hygiene guaranteed!.
- If your bushes have grown into a forest, it might be a good idea to use small scissors to chop down the harvest to a centimeter length before mowing them down with trimmers. Trust me, use trimmers directly on a lush green thriving forest and you'll regret it for the rest of your life.
- No foam and blockage of the tool. Just tap up and you're good to go. Yass!
- Keep the cover in warm water to disinfect for multiple usage.
B) Hair removal cream:
- These are easier than option A. This is secret success for removal around coffer as in other parts of the body.
- Cost affair is involved with brands here. Go for quality brand as you have direct contact with your skin.
- Hair removal creams are suspicious or I'd say objectionable since they can cause either irritation ( chemicals might not suit the sensitive area) or they can cause a spurted growth of hair near your eggs leading you to remove them more often than required. Yes, brushing, bathing, shaving and manscaping.
- Caution : Don't let cream enter inside the tunnel in any way.
- With no experience, I can't write more in this section, any helping hand?
Bonus: Spread talcum powder at the junction post shower and your problems shall fade away.

Put tasks like this that randomly appear in your mind on paper and delegate a time to do them straight away. That way when the distracting thought pops up next time you can simply reference it back to the notes you made earlier, thereby leaving the thought as “completed”.
- Brush Others Off - When you get a call or someone disrupts you simply say “I am really busy right now, how can I help you?”. If they tell you that they want to reach you later instead when you are free just insist saying “I will be busy later too so I would like to get this squared away as soon as possible. How can I help you?”. This may put others on the spot but it prioritizes your tasks and makes it so you do not have to worry about their call later.
- Add available hours - Afterwards say you are always available Mondays from 9–10 in the morning (for example). Giving them a specific time to reach you will keep them out of your way later in the day, allowing you to keep working without being distracted.
- Schedule Your Time In Advance - It is incredibly easy to waste time if you have nothing planned. As good as we think we are at not needing a schedule, the results show something different. On average, people find they cannot account for 24 hours every week. That is the average time you waste.
- Fill Your Calendar - Every single empty spot on your calendar is an opportunity for you to get lost in the endless procrastination cycles we all know. One episode turns into one season, one game turns into one night, and one page turns into one book. Fill your entire calendar so you do not have room for excuses or procrastinations!
- Take A 1-Minute Breather Every 20 Minutes - These breathers will save your sanity as you prepare for the next task. Do not do anything during this time other than to think about the task you are going to do next. That means no reading, videos, or social media! Even if you planned to watch a show on Netflix, take that one minute breather so that you can reassess whether or not you still want to watch the show. This raises your awareness and gives you an opportunity to not get completely lost in the time wasters.
- Treat Your Body Like A Temple - If you keep filling your body with alcohol, fats and drugs then you will take a lot longer to get anything done as everything will become harder. Your body is the machine that keeps you going. Treat it better than the most holy temple.
- Sleep Well - 6–8 hours every day no matter what.
- Eat Healthy- Avoid fatty & sugary substances as much as you can and get some nutrients and vitamins instead.
- Drink A Lot Of Water - At least 2–4L is what a normal, active person needs. Especially if you are doing any form of exercise during the day.
- Focus On The Most Important 20% - What 20% would make your life advance the most? If you had only 90 minutes to work today, what would you spend those 90 minutes doing? Do that first and put more effort into that than anything else you have to do that day.
- Enjoy The Moment - Have fun at all costs! Listen to awesome music, dance in your chair, and smile as much as you can. You know how much more effective you are when you are happy and feel good, so why not use that to your advantage? Even if you have to force the happiness it will give more benefits than repercussions!

Ah, time, the most elusive yet precious currency of life. I've delved into the art of maximizing productivity and saving those precious moments each day.
It begins with planning and prioritization. Each morning, set clear goals and outline tasks to keep your focus sharp. Organization is the key to unlocking your potential.
Delegation is another powerful ally. Recognize that you don't have to carry the weight alone. Trust capable individuals to share the load and liberate your time for more important endeavors.
To safeguard against distractions, identify their seductive traps—social media, excessive notifications, or needless meetings—and tame them. Allocate specific time slots for email checks and social browsing, safeguarding the hours for critical work.
Embrace the art of saying "no" when it matters, freeing yourself from non-essential commitments. Combine similar tasks to eliminate needless context switching, boosting efficiency.
Lastly, honor your mind and body. Engage in exercise, meditation, and quality sleep to recharge your batteries. A well-nourished soul ignites productivity.
Time is a precious resource. Seize it with intention and purpose. By applying these strategies—planning, delegation, minimizing distractions, efficient work habits, and self-care—you'll witness the liberation of time. Unleash the power of time management and embrace a life of productivity, accomplishment, and fulfillment.
What are the best time-saving hacks?
Batch process a mundane task with another task that require your concentration
Here’s what I did.
I used to iron my shirts on a daily basis.
What I did different today was to reserve some time and iron all the cloths in a row while I listen to my favorite audio book.
I spent 40 minutes in total and at the end I had 10 shirts ironed and listened to 40 minutes of my book.
At the end I have saved 40 minutes of time on listening to the book and some energy.

- This can work especially in India (I believe)- memorise signal patterns in large junctions that you usually take to commute everyday (riding a bike or driving a car). This can help when you have to wait for long in signal at a large junction - next time you see a long wait, if you have a two wheeler, this is really easy to do, take the free left (hopefully it's free), then take the U- Turn - this way you can get the green signal faster. This works only if the signal pattern is anti-clockwise without same time two-way opposite traffic release.
- This one is famous - create a todo list. While this certainly saves time with mini goals for your day, create a 'not to do list' and stay away from those activities as well. What this does is, it gets those addictions of yours into your consciousness and thus cultivates a discipline to stay away from them. This can save you time to do other productive stuff.
- Enter last into an elevator - at workplace, when you have a dozen people waiting along with you for an elevator, you might notice that everyone rushes to the door as soon as it arrives. Instead wait until everyone enters, and get in last if it’s an empty one. This way, you can come out faster when your floor arrives, especially when your floor would be the first to arrive after boarding the elevator (hypothetical e.g. 12th floor to stilt floor travel with one stop in between at 6th floor and you are at 12th waiting to go to 6th floor).
Update: the elevator point attracted comments and some thoughts too; please do check them out.

Never wait for anything. It’s not only a waste of your life, but it prevents you from lengthening your life. How can you extend your life? Tell you later.
You are downloading a program? That’s fine, but don’t waste your time watching it downloading. Do something else.
You are queueing in a store? Do something else.
Updating Windows? Do something else.
Waiting for the post (mail) to arrive? Do something else.
Your better half is still wandering round town? Do something else.

But what? Surely there’s nothing you can do while waiting to get served in a store? Surely it takes only a minute for Windows to update and what can you do in that time?
It’s up to you, of course. For me, there’s always a book in the car - if my better half takes longer than expected, I’m reading, so she can come back when she wants to. You might go out with a Kindle in your bag - again, that means you can sit in a café and read while you’re waiting for someone else who’s getting the coffees.
On your PC or mobile, make sure you can do something rather than waste time waiting for a download. Or if you can’t use it for the moment, look around to see what you can do - I tidy up the room!
But it’s not easy to stand in a queue and read. And there are plenty of other situations where the sort of things I’ve mentioned aren’t practical.
So what can you do when reading, tidying, etc, are not options?
You can extend your life.
When you breathe ‘coherently’ you improve your health and actually increase the chances of living longer. It’s something you need to do regularly to get good effects, but it’s better than being bored waiting for something.
How can you breathe coherently?
As you breathe in, count to five in your own mind. Try to make it five seconds (one way to do this is to say to yourself as you breathe in, ‘One little second, two little seconds, three…’) then count five as you breathe out.
Do this until you feel pretty comfortable with this. Then do the same, but increase the breaths to a six second duration.
That’s it!
If you want to enhance this, weirdly, imagine that you are breathing in and out through your heart. Strange, but this makes it even more effective.
Do this a few times a day, and over time your heartbeat will get ‘smoother’ and something called ‘Heart Rate Variability’ will improve. You will certainly be improving your health, and you may even prolong your life.
Not a bad way to beat the boredom of standing in queues! You’ll also feel calmer if someone ahead of you is taking a long time being served.
This is not to say we shouldn’t spend time just being - but only if we find some benefit in it. When it’s about the boring, pointless experiences we have each day there are ways of using these brief periods of time.
- I use Trello to designate between tasks and projects. Tasks can be completed in 1 -3 steps and in usually an hour or less. Projects are comprised of multiple tasks.
- I have a vision statement every morning. And circling the vision statement is a web of ideas or tasks.
- My phone is always on silent.
- I stop what I am doing and breathe intentionally for 1–3 mins when I am rushing or notice that I feel stressed.

The best way is to realise that you don't have “free time".
(1) Every single day matters.
(2) There is no extra time - you can use time left to skill yourself, spend it with family, to rest, to enjoy, etc.
(3) (2) is not a waste of time but utilisation of time.
(4) Most important way is to have a goal. When we don't have a goal - 24 hours per day may get wasted.

EDIT - Thanks everyone for so many upvotes. I never thought this simple answer could be so useful. I am happy and Thanks to Quora for enabling best sharing and learning platform I have ever used.

in quantity and, hopefully, in value. - Louis L’Amour
- Map your routines. Draw a chart of time and block out the time you use for each daily task.
- Clarify your priorities. Determine your values, set your goals, measure the obstacles, and write specific objectives. Set them in order.
- Maintain momentum. Work on your top priority until you hit the point where you must wait, then immediately move to the next priority.
- Don’t abuse yourself. Always leave enough time for self care.
After all that, you’ll still have the same 24 hour day you started with, but you may feel better about how you used it. Rinse and repeat.
sadly, but true: I did no think up the best ones, I learned them :)…still, here they are:
- the ”2 minute” rule - if anythings takes less than 2 minutes to be done, do it right away (i.e. as soon as you choose to accept it into your life)
- use a single task manager for all the actions I need to do - thus saving time in searching for ”the next thing to do” :)
- choose tasks to be tackled based on context rather than blurry criteria such as ”importance” (i.e.if I’m making phone calls, I use the “calls” context and bundle up all the calls I decided to make that day)

Well to over-simplify it, when you meditate, even simple focus on breath, it clears your mind up. Thought agitations calm down and thought webs clear out. It energizes you and preps you for the rest of the day.
I don't have studies to quote or empirical experiments to cite, but my experience has shown that the clarity it brings makes you more efficient and effective.
How do you meditate and/or which breathing practices? To do it right, you need to find yourself a good teacher. Meanwhile - sit/lie down in a comfortable postion -> close your eyes -> just focus on your breath. Observe its speed, length, depth and temperature as it goes in and out of your body.
External thoughts will come, as you are human. Acknowledge that you are human, acknowledge the thought, say a calm hello to it and tell it that you will come back to it after you are done meditating. And go back to focussing on your breath.
Try it out. And give it a regular, disciplined 10-14 days before you decide its not for you. But, try you must.
Avoid going into diminishing returns. When you stop being productive, stop working. Unless it's crunch time, long hours for extended periods of days just ends up crippling your productivity and you can get into a cycle of slower/poor decision making and detrimental ineffectiveness. Your rested brain and body performs circles around your "spent" version.
