I'm from Iran. In Iran we eat rice using spoon.

When I was in Belarus, I went to a traditional restaurant that sells Russian food with my girlfriend. I wasn't so familiar with the Russian dishes. I saw rice and ordered rice. When we sat together to eat, I started eating the rice using spoon. Then I noticed that my girlfriend is looking at me like I'm an idiot! I asked her what's wrong?

She replied: “no one eats rice with spoon in Europe!! Everyone eats the rice with fork in Europe!! Don't you know?? Haven't you been to Germany?? We use spoon to eat soup only!”

I said: “I didn't know that! Wow! Don't you think eating rice with spoon is much easier and cleaner than eating with fork?”

She replied: “yes it is but this is like that in Europe and if you eat rice with spoon you look like an idiot in people's eyes.”

Europeans, do you really eat the rice using fork??
