I had an order for an empty box.
I work on making the burgers.
The burgers come through to me on a screen, with any changes visible on the screen and a piece of paper that is automatically printed out.
While it wasn't very busy, I got a new order for a triple cheeseburger.
Except, this triple cheeseburger had no patties, no cheese, no pickles, no onion, no ketchup, and no mustard.
And no bun.
I frowned, trying to work out what was on the burger. Occasionally, I get no bun burgers, but this one was strange.
I soon realised that nothing was on the burger.
I asked one of my friends in kitchen whether he agreed with me.
He frowned, and replied yes.
So I called out to front counter and asked what the hell this order was supposed to be.
They frowned as well, and just said:
“Hmm, just send down an empty triple cheeseburger box.”
There was some intense frowning that day.
In the end, the guy who placed the order was asked why he wanted only a box and he said that he had a good, but private, reason, which I suspect had something to do with him wanting other people to believe he'd had a triple cheeseburger.
No idea why.
EDIT:
Had a really strange order today and couldn’t resist adding it.
I got what looked like a normal order on my screen, and it said just a hamburger.
However, front counter called out and said to make a cup of pickles instead of the hamburger.
Apparently because they didn’t have a button for cups of pickles. Weird, eh? Doesn’t everyone want a cup of pickles?
So, extremely confused, I got a cup from front counter, went back to kitchen and filled it with pickles.
So someone ordered a frozen coke and a cup of pickles.
No idea why, or how much it cost.
Some people are just weird.
