Naaaaice. They don't understand that if they don't take any action on them, don't make it a national news, they will keep looting innocent people.
Henceforth when I received calls from them, I just tried to act innocent and wasted their time until I surprised them at last. These two have been my favorite incidents when they called as a SBI employee:
- Same story as usual, I gave all my details with minor changes. When he asked me if I received a message, I said yes and pretended to read out the following - *some gali* agar tere jaise chor itna dimag laga sakta hai, mein toh engineer hu bey, kuch acha kaam karle chain ki maut marega.( *Cuss words* if a theif like you can use his brain to this extent, I'm an engineer afterall. Go do some good work so that you can die in peace ) 😂
- Once they did a blunder, called me on a Sunday afternoon. I was like - in my place, SBI people don't give a sh*t to your query on weekdays, but you have called me proactively on a Sunday afternoon. Better luck next time 😜
I know, this will keep on happening until no strict action has been taken against them or there is much awareness among people. So better have some fun and waste their time.
Whatsapp fraud or scam cannot be attended to by whatsapp Group or any law enforcement authority unless it involves maybe a huge amount of money.. the best you can do is probably block the number they're using to communicate with you and also block all the medium at which you can possibly reach them. unless of cos you decide the other best you can probably do is to hire a professional private investigative groups like Cyphtech to look into the issue for you and hopefully they will be able to help you.
I personally see no benefit of reporting them because they use stolen pictures, stolen information, fake names. Everything is fake. So what does a law enforcement officer have to work with. They will be tracking a fake person.
Even I got a call from 9006183458. He said I am calling from ATM Card Department and need some information. I asked him Which Bank ? He mumbled and said I need to map your ATM Card number to AADHAR card immediately. If not your Card will be blocked.
Immediately I understood its a fraud and started recording call. He asked My Name, Address, Debit Card Number, Email ID, CVV Number and AADHAR number.
I responded with all fake details and asked all details are correct ? He said Ya your details are correct and I am mapping your Aadhar to ATM card.

If you can afford life lock or Aura it monitors all that stuff and stops it, sends you notices that some one is using your stuff on other web sites. If you go to the phone provider they usually push to get you a new number and shut the other one down or in active. There are other apps. You can ck out to help with this stuff. The site I was first referring too monitors your email, drivers license. You add accounts for them to monitor. Weather you've been scammed or not. These days some added protection helps.
It is quite easy, they follow certain steps. Let me walk you out with those.
1 - They will send you a text message saying you have won something.
2 - They will again send you the same message with different credentials.
3 - Now they will text you on Whatsapp or they will call you within 1–2 days. They start their conversation along the lines of “Sir we are calling you because you have shopped recently on Amazon and you have won the lucky draw. We have sent you a link on Whatsapp to verify your details.”
And Thats how it works! Hope it helps.

f you have been the victim of a scam or fraud on WhatsApp that involves money, you should report it to the appropriate authorities in your country. Here are some general guidelines on where to report scams related to money:
- Contact your bank or financial institution: If the scam involved a bank transfer, credit card transaction, or other financial activity, contact your bank or financial institution immediately to report the fraud and take steps to protect your account.
- File a police report: Contact your local police department or law enforcement agency to file a report on the scam. Be sure to provide as much information as possible about the scam and any related transactions or communications.
- Contact consumer protection agencies: Many countries have consumer protection agencies that can help you report scams and frauds. Check with your local government to find out how to contact these agencies.
Remember, it's important to act quickly if you believe you have been the victim of a scam or fraud. The sooner you report the scam and take steps to protect yourself, the better your chances of recovering any lost funds and preventing further damage.
- see , my suggestion is if scam is from whatsapp, there is no customer care related assistance . I think in my personal view on whatsapp is a platform of secured medium as far as u r legal limit goes.
- so if any fraud occures from frauders or scammers first we have to know from where it happened it is financial it is better to complain in u r appropriate bank and tracking is the key to get money back if we respond slowly we all know whatsapp is end to end encrypted platform and for scammers it is heaven to escape and to change there whereabouts.
- if crime is kind of pishing or any malware if any personal information stolen it is better to give complaint in cyber security related officers they can rescue u .
- final conclusion is that if any fraud occures knowing from where it happened and reacting quickly is the weapon if we respond quickly we can minimise the crime half. after that offence related branches will take care the fraud. with out questioning we should not disclose our personal data. they will manipulate still we should be careful and crosschecking parallelly is the remedy.
- no crime will take place without persons consent. so while giving consent better to think twicely and giving permission is good thing . these days crimes became complex without persons consent also still some attacks are happening. so we cant do anything in that scenarios it is better to reboot or to remove viruses from systems is the solution. always use some anti virus apps something to keep u r spaces securely.
- so maintaining distance from unknowing websites and advertisements and malwares is better.
- Finding location of scammers is very difficult for concerned authorities and as well as for us .if we complaint late even more difficult to catch. if scam is very minimal it is better to avoid these kind of attacks by not entertaining them. if scam is big it is giving complaint as soon as possible is good.
That is not true, I have received whatsap spam from many different numbers including ones in different countries like Ghana and Turkey, also I have received a lot from numbers with +1, which are likely google voice numbers.
Most agencies can provide an info report, but you can’t do much. There are several apps that you can disguise and or use people’s numbers. People can make it look like they are calling from anywhere in the world. Unless a major crime is involved, they are not going to get search warrants and try to track it. Even then, can be difficult unless they are using a cell phone and you can’t ping it.
Filing a Complaint on National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal
It is imperative to provide correct and accurate details while filing complaint for prompt action. Please contact local police in case of an emergency or for reporting crimes other than cyber crimes. National police helpline number is 100

Thier is so much red tape and if not red tape it’s the people who you are reporting it to they thenselves just as corrupt and have thier own hustle going themselves that is so much like the one your reporting that would be detrimental to their own cause, they are out to strengthen thier own not tare it down! What your going to find is cons have been a way of life since life itself ,even in your own government look closely at everything going on and you’ll see how laws and policies are scam enforcement most of the time a way for money to be made, also most countries write laws to protect thier own from being prosecuted outside thier country as well as in,and now today with the internet it’s a smorgasbord, cyber scam if yiu will, everything if you look at deep is a scam in the cyber world,EVERYTHING!! It’s brought all the bad out in people thier is no honestly. For one the things that keep most people honest, actions, communication as well as face to face no longer exists as once did where you could at least get a read on someone now you don’t hear a lying voice, face etc to know if someone is lying or not ,it’s to easy on the web to create a world of lies and everyone wants a piece of the pie! Just try start reporting these crimes and youl see thier enthusiasts voices waiting to help, yeah right, see if you ever get a follow up then start really seeing the real world were in it’s a waste of time! Best thing I’ve gotten from all this there is millions of$$$ for me to take only one problem I can’t its never going to be me I’m old school came from a time of morals and common decency but if u can go for it it’s the american way now,the only way!! And know this as well for people who are getting scammed Shame on them for many reasons the worst of all is still wanting to believe in the common decency of man,the theory we can’t give up on trusting people, well guess what it’s gone, never trust anyone today and I mean anyone the weak are being sought out don’t be one!!
They will definitely take action against the culprits, Go to nearest CBI police station from the address of the cheat, they will definitely keep you posted with latest position of your case, like they help me.
I too get cheated on my back, as l so many times.ldo Market Research, and lam a women, they think they can easily cheat me!
Of course, and it is important that you do, as it is likely connected to other investigations they have going on, and you may have important information that they need.
Just tell the person who is calling to send you proper summons by registered post, also ask him for his designation and place of posting.
Most likely the person will be a fraudster. FYI police may call you if there is any adverse complaint against you. Most of the time they issue summons to call you which is sent by regd post or speed post AD. Never visit a police station on the basis of a call

And, without any such proof of the call, you can't just file an FIR to the police. You may show them the call logs, and the timings of the call.
But, that will not be of much help, unless you are someone VIP.
But, yes, you can always file an FIR to the police, give them the number, and the call logs of the number.

But, be very sure that the caller has actually “threatened” you, out of blue, and that your life, or property, or something or someone, likewise is in some serious trouble, due to some probable direct or passive attack of the caller.
Else, be ready for some serious thrashing from the cops.

It is fairly easy! The hard part is getting all the paperwork together to show a judge probable cause. It is almost the same as getting a search warrant for your house.
No!
Police usually gets the backup of WhatsApp messages from people’s phone otherwise it is not possible to tap on messages too.
As far as calls are concerned there is no backup unless one of the participant of the call is recording it.
My suggestion is not to talk something which is not allowed by the law.

Don't even talk to them. Just hang up. Actually, I don't even Answer The call Let voicemail answer it if they don't leave a voicemail. You know it's a scam because they won't.
Yes, but it would be contrary to good procedure. If you are in touch with someone via WhatsApp or any other messaging application who is claiming to be a law enforcement officer, they are almost certainly a fraud. If you’re still in doubt, ask what law enforcement agency your contact works for, and call them on the telephone. Ask to speak to them.
Not there? Phony cop.
Yes of course, and you can also spread the word to those you know so that they protect themselves.

The short answer is: No, you cannot report fraud to the FBI through WhatsApp.
The FBI does not accept fraud reports via WhatsApp. To report fraud, you must use their official channels, such as the FBI’s online tip form, their local field offices, or by calling them directly. Additionally, you can report fraud through the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) for online-related fraud.
