Slow... and slower! When I returned to the International Space Station (ISS) with the STS-131 Discovery crew in April of 2010, social media had just begun to "take off" (good space reference, huh?!). When I arrived I hoped to do some tweeting from space. I tried to use the internet capability from JAXA Astronaut Soichi Noguchi's sleep station, but it was taking so long I gave up!

I resorted to sending Tweets via email to the ground (a much faster process although mail buffers only done/sync'd about twice per day), and then the email was converted into a Tweet to be sent throughout the Twitterverse! Not perfect, but functional! As such I could not read/review Tweets in real time, unless they were converted back into an email note.

It is possible that today on the ISS (after all, it's been 5 years since I was there) the internet/wifi capability is much faster, but you'll have to check in with someone who knows more than me. BTW... that's not hard to do!

Keep lookin' up... and following @Astro_Clay on Twitter and Facebook!
