Throw yourself into things full-force, even though you know you may get hurt.
Then stand with confidence when you recover from your heartbreaks.
Knowing you can do both--put yourself entirely into things, and recover when your heart breaks--will serve you well for the rest of your life.
You will never have more energy or ability to think, and you will never be more vulnerable. 20 is when you learn to push your limits, succeed at levels you didn't know possible, and recover from the failures that are inevitable when you take risks.
Knowing what you can do, and what you can recover from, will make the whole rest of your life more successful.
