One of the most touching photos to me is of Anne Frank's father, Otto, visiting the attic where he and his family hid during WW2 years after. He was the sole surviving member of his family to survive the Holocaust.

Otto edited and published Anne Frank's diary and established numerous charities in her name. He is also responsible for the trust that preserves The Anne Frank House as a historic site.

Overpaying on car insurance

You’ve heard it a million times before, but the average American family still overspends by $417/year on car insurance.

If you’ve been with the same insurer for years, chances are you are one of them.

Pull up Coverage.com, a free site that will compare prices for you, answer the questions on the page, and it will show you how much you could be saving.

That’s it. You’ll likely be saving a bunch of money. Here’s a link to give it a try.

Consistently being in debt

If you’ve got $10K+ in debt (credit cards…medical bills…anything really) you could use a debt relief program and potentially reduce by over 20%.

Here’s how to see if you qualify:

Head over to this Debt Relief comparison website here, then simply answer the questions to see if you qualify.

It’s as simple as that. You’ll likely end up paying less than you owed before and you could be debt free in as little as 2 years.

Missing out on free money to invest

It’s no secret that millionaires love investing, but for the rest of us, it can seem out of reach.

Times have changed. There are a number of investing platforms that will give you a bonus to open an account and get started. All you have to do is open the account and invest at least $25, and you could get up to $1000 in bonus.

Pretty sweet deal right? Here is a link to some of the best options.

Having bad credit

A low credit score can come back to bite you in so many ways in the future.

From that next rental application to getting approved for any type of loan or credit card, if you have a bad history with credit, the good news is you can fix it.

Head over to BankRate.com and answer a few questions to see if you qualify. It only takes a few minutes and could save you from a major upset down the line.

How to get started

Hope this helps! Here are the links to get started:

Have a separate savings account
Stop overpaying for car insurance
Finally get out of debt
Start investing with a free bonus

Now, watching him reduced to this, it’s sad. Kind of breaks my heart. I lost my grandmother to dementia too, years ago. She died when my first daughter was only three months old. She could barely talk, too, but she beamed with pride. I know the look on Willis’ face. It’s a little too familiar…

So, you think you’ve drafted a tweet, an email, a short story, or even a novel. These are different forms of communication, but the process of bringing them to fruition has a necessary, sometimes overlooked step: editing! Unless you’re a professional writer, it’s unlikely that you have an editor who can review your writing regularly. Here are some tips to help you review your own work.

  1. Give your writing some space. Have you ever felt a mix of pure relief and joy when you’ve finished a draft of something? Don’t downplay that feeling and the ability to walk away from your work before you start editing it. You may need minutes, hours, or days, but once you sit back down with what you originally had on the page, you’ll have the thrill of looking at it with fresh eyes. You’ll notice errors you may not have seen the first time. You’ll come to new realizations about its overall tone and structure. If it’s a text or email, maybe you only need a few minutes away from it. If it’s a story or essay, perhaps you’ll need longer. Regardless of what type of work it is, it will help your writing tremendously.
  2. Don’t use overachieving synonyms. Looking at your work for the second, third, or fourth time around may inspire you to spice up your language with longer, more uncommon words. There’s nothing wrong with having a thesaurus nearby, but try to limit the repetition of long, pretentious-feeling words so your work flows well and doesn’t feel too bogged down. At the end of the day, you want it to feel true to you and the message you’re conveying.
  3. Remember who the reader is. Don’t forget your own voice as the writer—but don’t forget who your reader is. Many writers get too close to their work; editing is a chance to try to get out of your own head. Who is your ideal reader? What do you want them to take away from the writing? It’s a unique time to step in their shoes, to make sure your communication is as effective as you’d like it to be.
  4. Kill your darlings. Don’t be scared to remove chunks of your work, even if it feels precious to you. If it’s a passage that’s really tough to part with, try saving it somewhere else, so you can return to it later in your piece or for another work.
  5. Use Grammarly. Last but not least, Grammarly has countless resources for editing your work. Our writing assistant helps you find areas of your writing that are unclear or too wordy, as well as help you find mistakes you might not have caught.

Editing may feel tedious, but it’s just as important as writing itself. For an extra pair of editing eyes on everything you write, download the free Grammarly for Windows and Mac today.

His owner, as often as he can, carries Schoep out in to the water of Lake Superior, where the buoyancy of the water eases his pain and lets him fall asleep - just like that, totally trusting his owner and friend and cradled in his arms, his head resting on his chest.

It's so touching for so many reasons - the dedication of John (Schoep's owner), the knowledge Schoep's pain-free and comfortable when the picture is taken, and that peaceful look on Schoep's face.

There's more to the story that makes it quite touching. John credits Schoep with saving his life. He adopted Schoep when he was just a neglected puppy in a shelter 19 years ago. Years later, John became depressed and suicidal and credits Schoep with saving his life - he just couldn't abandon his friend like that so refused to give up. 2. Earn as Much as $1K/Month Doing Simple Online Tasks

Is there such a thing as easy money? If you know your way around the web, there certainly is.

That’s because data is currency these days, and many companies are willing to pay cash for it — up to $1,000 per month.

Finding these companies can be time-consuming on your own. But a company called Freecash has compiled all sorts of quick cash tasks from about a dozen advertisers and market research companies thirsty for more data. Freecash has paid out over $13 million to users since 2019.

Signing up for a Freecash account is easy, and there’s no minimum amount you need to earn before you can cash out. And if you’ve got enough free time on your hands, you can join the ranks of Freecash users making more than $1,000 a month in extra cash. Sign up here to see how much you could earn.

3. Cancel Your Car Insurance

You might not even realize it, but your car insurance company is probably overcharging you. In fact, they’re kind of counting on you not noticing. Luckily, this problem is easy to fix.

Don’t waste your time browsing insurance sites for a better deal. A company called Insurify shows you all your options at once — people who do this save up to $1,025 per year.

If you tell them a bit about yourself and your vehicle, they’ll send you personalized quotes so you can compare them and find the best one for you. No phone calls. No spam. Just happy customers (4.7 rating on Trustpilot).

Tired of overpaying for car insurance? It takes just five minutes to compare your options with Insurify and see how much you could save on car insurance.

4. Get Paid $225/Month While Watching Movie Previews

If I told you that you could get paid while watching videos on your computer, you’d probably laugh. It’s too good to be true, right?

But I’m serious. By signing up for a free account with InboxDollars, you could add up to $225 a month to your pocket. They’ll send you short surveys every day, which you can fill out while you watch someone bake brownies or catch up on the latest Kardashian drama.

No, InboxDollars won’t replace your full-time job, but it’s something easy you can do while you’re already on the couch tonight, wasting time on your phone.

Unlike other sites, InboxDollars pays you in cash — no points or gift cards. It’s already paid its users more than $56 million.

Signing up takes about one minute, and you’ll immediately receive a $5 bonus to get you started.

5. Earn $1000/Month by Reviewing Games and Products You Love

This is the new normal. Everything just costs more now, so that means we have to find ways to earn more.

But there’s a way you can mix work with play and earn an extra $1000 a month while doing it.

All you need to do is register on Kashkick with your phone or computer. Kashkick will then show you all sorts of money-making tasks you can do to pad your bank account.

You’ll earn various dollar amounts for answering survey questions, playing games, watching videos, and reviewing things — you pick which opportunities you want.

You can get your money quickly and securely, and you don’t need to earn a lot before you can collect it. You can cash out via PayPal with as little as $10 in earnings.

Ready to give yourself a raise? Sign up for Kashkick and start earning money whenever you have a little free time.

6. Ask This Company to Get a Big Chunk of Your Debt Forgiven

You’re not an extravagant spender. That’s why it feels so surreal to be in so much debt.

But with higher inflation and rising costs of everyday purchases, so many of us have had to rely more and more on credit cards just to keep up with just our basic needs.

The good news is, a company called National Debt Relief wants to help by negotiating with your creditors to resolve your debt.

If you owe at least $10,000 in unsecured debt (credit card debt, personal loans, medical bills, etc.), National Debt Relief’s experts can set you up with a realistic timeframe and payment plan that works for you.

As your monthly payments with the National Debt Relief program add up, they’ll negotiate with your creditors to settle your accounts. You will have to pay a percentage of debt settled, but it’ll still be way less than your original debt.

On average, you could resolve your debts in as little as 24 to 48 months.

Further research on this dog said that in the summer of 1995 the dog had been riding in a car with a man and a girl. The car had crashed, the girl was killed on the spot, and the man was taken to a hospital where he died a few hours later; the dog survived. His name was not known, so people began calling him "Faithful"or "Kostya" (a hypocorisom (affectionate diminutive) of Constantine which itself devolves from "constant, steadfast").People built doghouses for him and some tried to adopt him into their homes, but no such attempt succeeded: the dog always came back, looking for his master, nor would he stay in the shelters; all he would take from the people was food.In the snow and rain, in any weather and time of year, he was always in his spot. In any weather he always waited and always ran up to all passing vehicles. Everyone who traveled that road from the old city to the new always saw Kostya running along the roadside or resting quietly on the grass. The citizens became very fond of Kostya and turned his story into a living legend.

The loss of this popular dog “Kotsya” made people sad. So the Russian Government including the city of Tolyatti initiated a campaign to construct a bronze statue of Kostya. That statue is named as “Loyalty”.

Dogs don’t rationalize. They don’t hold anything against a person. They don’t see the outside of a human but the inside of a human. That’s why dog is the best friend gifted by God to a human being.

As one political commentator ex-pressed it in a 1994 radio broadcast before violence erupted in Rwanda, "To kill the big rats, you have to kill the little rats." As though killing adults is not enough, the future generation should be eliminated too, or scarred for a lifetime.

These pictures say it all.

Feeding the Needy - Most heart touching photos & a Kind-hearted Person

Narayanan Krishnan was a bright, young, award-winning chef with a five-star hotel group, short-listed for an elite job in Switzerland. But a quick family visit home before heading to Europe changed everything.

Narayanan Krishnan was a bright, young, award-winning chef with a five-star hotel group, short-listed for an elite job in Switzerland. But a quick family visit home before heading to Europe changed everything.

"I saw a very old man eating his own human waste for food," Krishnan said. "It really hurt me so much. I was literally shocked for a second. After that, I started feeding that man and decided this is what I should do the rest of my lifetime."

Krishnan was visiting a temple in the south Indian city of Madurai in 2002 when he saw the man under a bridge. Haunted by the image, Krishnan quit his job within the week and returned home for good, convinced of his new destiny.

"That spark and that inspiration is a driving force still inside me as a flame -- to serve all the mentally ill destitutes and people who cannot take care of themselves," Krishnan said.

Krishnan founded his nonprofit Akshaya Trust in 2003. Now 29, he has served more than 1.2 million meals -- breakfast, lunch and dinner -- to India's homeless and destitute, mostly elderly people abandoned by their families and often abused.

His day begins at 4 a.m. He and his team, roam in a donated van, daily 125 miles, in areas where temperature is as high as 38-40C. He finds the homeless poor souls under bridges, crannies between the city’s temple. He delivers, simple and tasty hot vegetarian meal, which he personally prepares, packs and he himself feeds to them.

"Because of the poverty India faces, so many mentally ill people have been ... left un-cared [for] on the roadside of the city," he said.

He also carries a comb, scissors and razor and he himself shaves them. He serves those people who don’t even know their own name or have capacity to to beg, ask for mercy or return thanks.

Narayanan Krishnan and his team members feed nearly 400 people daily.

"The panic, suffering of the human hunger is the driving force of me and my team members of Akshaya," he said. "I get this energy from the people. The food which I cook ... the enjoyment which they get is the energy. I see the soul. I want to save my people."

It costs him around 15000 per day, but the donations only cover 22 days a month. Rest of the money he subsidizes by the money which he receives in a monthly rent from a home his grandpa gave him.

"They had a lot of pain because they had spent a lot on my education," he said. "I asked my mother, 'Please come with me, see what I am doing.' After coming back home, my mother said, 'You feed all those people, the rest of the lifetime I am there, I will feed you.' I'm living for Akshaya. My parents are taking care of me."

Due to lack of donations, his next project, Akshaya Home, where he can provide shelter for the people.

"Now I am feeling so comfortable and so happy," he says. "I have a passion, I enjoy my work. I want to live with my people."

Due to his vision and huge dedication towards helping the needs, he has been selected for CNN Heroes 2010. And he deserves it.

All he says is, “I want to save my people, that is the purpose of my life”

The story of Juno and Lucas is one of the most touching stories to have surfaced recently about the amazing relationship between humans and their companion animals.
Juno is a Belgian Malinois that was only days away from being euthanized; the beautiful dog was well tempered and seemed to have been given up by owners who were not prepared to take on the responsibility of the dog.
Lucas was diagnosed with
Sanfilippo syndrome, a condition that impedes the bodies ability to process enzymes.
As his life continues he will lose the ability to speak and function and his physical and mental abilities will degrade till he is left in a vegetative state. The average life expectancy for sufferers is 15 years. The parents were devastated with Chester, Lucas’ father,
saying, “The most catastrophic thing parents hear when they learn their child has this disease is that there’s no cure or treatment available.”
Chester wanted his child to enjoy his life on earth as much as humanly possible and looked into getting a service dog for the child. However, Lucas wasn’t a good candidate due to his deteriorating abilities, not to mention the $15,000 cost of the animal.
Undeterred by all of this, Chester looked into adopting a dog for his son. He found Juno on a website and drove two hours to meet her. Chester had worked with the breed in the police force and was familiar with how to train them. He put in the patience and hard work, and trained Juno while allowing her to become acclimated to Lucas.
Now, not only will Juno not leave Lucas’ side, she is also helping with his illness.
According to Chester, “She has the ability to pick up on his neurological changes. Now she alerts us when Lucas is about to have a seizure or if his oxygen levels drop really low. She has saved him several times.”

An abandoned baby monkey, close to death, is revived by the love of a bird.
The 12-week-old macaque was rescued on Neilingding Island, in Goangdong Province, China, after being abandoned by his mother.

Taken to an animal hospital, he was weaned back to physical health but still showed little appetite for life.
It was not until a fellow patient, a white pigeon, took him under her wing and showed him love and affection that he perked up.
Now the two are inseparable, say staff.

Ethiopian athlete Meseret Defar provided one of the most emotional moments of the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games when she crossed the finish line in the 5000 meter race to win the gold.
She then pulled a picture of the Virgin Mary out from under her jersey, showed it to the cameras and held it up to her face in deep prayer.
An Orthodox Christian, Defar entrusted her race to God with the sign of the cross and reached the finish line in 15:04:24, beating her fellow Ethiopian rival Tirunesh Dibaba, who was the favorite to win.

A teary-eyed Defar proudly showed the picture of the Virgin Mary with the Baby Jesus that she carried with her for the entire race.

The amazing thing is that Willy Brandt was part of the resistance against Hitler. Hermann Schreiber, a reporter who witnessed this event, wrote a week later in the magazine Spiegel: "If this man, who wasn't responsible for the crime, who wasn't there in those years, now decides to walk through the former Warsaw ghetto and to kneel down - then it's clear he doesn't kneel there for his own sake. Then he kneels, the one who doesn't need to, for all those who do need to but don't kneel there - because they dare not or cannot or cannot dare. So he confesses a guilt that he doesn't have to carry, and he asks for a forgiveness that he himself doesn't need. Then he kneels there for Germany."

Willy Brandt himself wrote in his memoirs: "At the abyss of German history and the weight of millions of murder victims, I did what humans do when words fail them".

This gesture was highly controversial in Germany at the time.

New question: The Cold War: Do you think Willy Brandt did the right thing in kneeling in Warsaw?
