I get the feeling you are looking for quick hacks. While I could certainly give you some of those, I'd rather give you something more profound.
There is one thing you can do that will literally change your life forever, and that is proper nutrition. I don't mean low fat or low carb, nor do I mean hitting you macros. I don't even mean eating your fruits and veggies (though it is part of the equation). But really, truly care about what you put into your body. Is that protein bar, full of chemicals and processed materials fueling you, or creating an anchor? You would be surprised...
The short answer here is to prepare your own food, eat organic as much as possible (yes, it's expensive - but it's cheaper than the medical bills and lost performance), focus on lean meats and veggies, avoid grains (they're disastrous for most of us), and when you do eat something that isn't good for you - notice the difference in how you feel. This is key!
This is very uncomfortable for a multitude of reasons. It's hard. It's socially limiting. It can be more expensive if you are used to eating off the dollar menu. It's not as tasty (initially). It takes more time. You get the idea. But is it worth it? I can tell you 100% and then some - it most definitely is. Being a weird health nut and outperforming everyone else is so much more fun than blending in - and that's not just athletically. It's mentally as well.
Thank you for asking me to answer, I'm certainly humbled.
