"Villampazham" in Tamil or Wood Apple is found in South India. It has an extremely hard outer shell (we used to drop it from heights to break it) which can be broken with hammer or hard tools. The pulp is dark brown with seeds.
The taste is difficult to describe but has high flavor. It has excellent health benefits in addition!
