I saw someone add the Blue Train in South Africa. I have to add Rovos Rail in Africa. It's a wonderful journey between Pretoria and Cape Town. The rooms are much larger than the Blue Train. Large enough to accommodate a king size bed, additional seating and a bathroom. Your room doesn't have to be converted each night like the Blue Train. It's also a fantastic "steam engine" journey on part of the trip. In addition, Rovos Rail truly offers "journeys" through Africa some of which include safaris and stops along the way. It just takes you back to the romance of rail travel with nightly gourmet meals that you dress up for. One of my favorite things about Rovos is all of the surprises along the way. On my last journey, we stopped about 3 1/2 miles before the next destination and allowed those that wanted to run a 5K to the next stop to do so. What better way to see the African continent than by train?
