I'm not counting the pirated copies printed on poor quality paper with lots of colored graphics on the cover, sold by roadside or railway station vendors.

In general, editors as well as the publishers do make it a point that the plot remains a mystery to the buyer of a fiction. Often, the pictures or the memes used on the cover of a book are either vague or misleading or mysterious. This is a conscious and well-calculated step taken by the publishers. The cover has to be eye-catching, carry some relevance to the subject/content of the book and yet give away nothing about the plot - somewhat like a movie poster.

This is not new……many actors are suffering from this nepotism…this is the saddest truth behind bollywood🙏

Personally I would say that the image is too busy. If I consider that the title of the novel, possible subtitle, and author name may also be going on said cover, I think it would be difficult to get a visually appealing combination of all these elements when using this image.

Its suitability from a thematic position, for me would be based upon the content of the mystery novel. If these flowers have a part to play in the actual story (or even are referenced in the title) then I would deem it suitable. If flowers have nothing to do with the subject matter however, then I would say the image isn't really right for your cover.

If you are interested in the flower aspect and want to go ahead, I would suggest looking into the possibility of a vector/drawing/sketch image of flowers that have 1-2 solid colours maximum, as I believe this would suit a novel's cover better, and could provide a better juxtaposition with any text, and would overall be more striking.
